Cliffs

Matt and Samer might be scammers
Matt claims him and Samer are friends, Samer claims he barely knows Matt
Swedish poker players might be the target of a very dangerous Swedish organized crime ring
Matt might have bought Twitter followers

Surprisingly they grind together when they do not know each. From San Remo 2010.

This picture is taken from a private game in San Remo that a bunch of guys ran from a suite in the San Remo Royal Hotel. Matt would've played in the game and probably grinded a bit online when he was sitting out. The game was crooked and probably rigged.

For those who know, can you tell us who all the people are in the picture?

Not a poker pro but I will say this....IF any mob or MC gang see's there is money to steal they will find people to steal it. On that note they will certainly shut people up that know about it. Chances are if this is true one/some of those involved may well be unable, and wise, to post info anonymously, and any that ARE guilty had better relocate somewhere else. Christ that is all we need is stories associating online poker with organized crime in the news....

Love these threads. As if the crusty old nits at the B&M needed any more ammo at this point to counter my assertions that online poker is on the up and not rigged. fml

As if poker is the only company that involves corruption...

Prob because not any swede want to use there real nickname that can be led back to them. It were the same thing on the swedish forum pokerforum.nu when the deleted thread came up about samer and theterrorist. Basically not one famous swedish pokerplayer or big forum-profile posted a comment in that thread, whit there own nick anyway.

The deleted thread was gone in middle of february. OP were clearly getting threatened after posting HHs and other evidence.

Guy in red shirt is Calle Ygborn, poker professional, bubble boy in 2005 main event from Gothenburg.

Guy to the far right in black, Zoran Zoric, accused participant in Casino Cosmopol scam 2011 in Gothenburg. Was convicted for assault the same year.

I'm pretty certain that's him. (http://www.facebook.com/zoran.zoric.1276)

Being at a table with some pro hacker is no worry, right? You have to participate somehow, right?

Dont know myself, kinda new....a tad worried
There's a bit more to it.
Yes, the simplest way would be for someone to actually load something into your computer, or for you to download an executable file (or an executable file disguised as something else... (a picture, or video for instance), there are also ways of faking common web sites, log-on screens etc. that can fool you into downloading something... but a really good hacker can infiltrate your computer in many other ways. faking updates, finding open ports, whatever... (I'm sure there are some really good hacker/cracker types on 2+2 that can fill us in) As major intelligence agencies say, "If it's connected to the internet, someone can get in."
The best thing you can do is be VERY aware of what to download, and have good security software and keep it up to date. ( far from a guarantee, but it'll keep out the riff raff)

And get a RSA security key . Wont stop someone trying to view your screen obv but should make actual access to your account harder. I've always wondered wether session hijacking is possible on the poker clients?

Note the difficult to hack MAC that he was using at least 2 years ago..... This just strikes me as amusing.
I would think that Samer, as an IT consultant and friend would also be using a MAC at that time if he was worried about hacking (The entire 'I was hacked so I switched to a MAC" thing just strikes me as some kind of silly excuse)

I have some questions about the trojan instillation and use. Not to derail the thread...

It sounds like most of the trojans are installed via fake websites with downloads or physical contact via usb drive.

If your computer is password protected can they even install a trojan? Or do they just need to plug in the usb for a few sec? If so it seems like leaving your pc lying around a bunch of poker players with no pass protect is very unwise. Not to dig at those who got scammed. Maybe I am just more paranoid than most.

Another question. Does the screen capturing technology slow the computer down or change any settings like teamviewer or other screen cap technologies? I guess they only need a very low fram rate so it prob wouldn't?
