130 people.

Whereas in America 11,690 people have died at the hands of guns in the first 9 months of 2017.

That's an entirely different talking point that doesn't apply to this incident.

If anyone knows someone who was injured and lives in California, they can get financial assistance through their local District Attorney's Office. California has a Victim Assistance Program that will financially assist a victim of a violent crime. They help with numerous areas like; medical bills, travel expenses, burial etc . .

They even help cover home renovations for those who need their homes disability friendly. Just an FYI if anyone knows someone who was injured/killed.

I am just pointing this out to show that your argument is totally unfair. Gun laws are not a holy grail to decrease the murder rate. But good gun legislation is probably one of the key points you can influence that can have an impact on the murder rate.
Simply not true. Gun control and access to guns has little effect on the intentional homicide rate. Africa has some of the lowest rates of gun ownership yet some of the highest rates of intentional homicide in the world. Same goes for South America.

Homicide is most closely related to equality, poverty, homogeneity.

You trying to compare a 1st world, insulated, and homogeneous nation like the UK to a country with 5x the population, 40x the size, more diverse, and borders a massively unstable 2nd/3rd world nation .... is reckless.

Until the day comes when we can read people's minds, these type of crimes will continue, unfortunately.

Kind of does if they're using it to push an agenda that allows only the benevolent government to own guns.

So you're saying the USA has much higher inequality, poverty, and way more violent a$$holes compared to other OECD countries?

How do you explain Canada? Smaller population than USA, but very, very diverse population with much, much, much lower gun deaths on a per capita basis.

As many have noted, this thread is completely off the rails on politics and gun control. NVG is not the place for this. We have threads in Politics to address these issues.

Since there are continuing news reports and information coming out about these events, we will try a new thread to focus strictly on discussing the event, and its impact on Vegas. Any political or gun control derails will be met with a temp ban.
