I am just pointing this out to show that your argument is totally unfair. Gun laws are not a holy grail to decrease the murder rate. But good gun legislation is probably one of the key points you can influence that can have an impact on the murder rate.
Simply not true. Gun control and access to guns has little effect on the intentional homicide rate. Africa has some of the lowest rates of gun ownership yet some of the highest rates of intentional homicide in the world. Same goes for South America.
Homicide is most closely related to equality, poverty, homogeneity.
You trying to compare a 1st world, insulated, and homogeneous nation like the UK to a country with 5x the population, 40x the size, more diverse, and borders a massively unstable 2nd/3rd world nation .... is reckless.
