How does he continue to get invited into these big games - he's shown that he's an extremely shady individual. Are people really just foaming at the mouth to play with him? Can't see any other good reason for anyone to gamble with him. I understand Leon is probably one of the spots in the game but he certainly does not play PLO that poorly and he's obviously not afraid to gamboool.

lmao. Trust me buddy, leon is a massive spot. Just because he's not brain dead and punting every hand doesnt mean he isn't making very big mistakes.

He has tons of $ and is willing to gamble -- he will be a staple in every big game despite that shady **** he pulled on kirk

He is not great at PLO IMO, doesn't understand (or maybe understands but chooses to ignore) some of the basic fundamentals of starting hand selection, position, and stack size dynamics.

His post flop play isn't as big a weakness as his pre flop game because pots are often very inflated pre when he is in a hand so SPRs are low and many hands play themselves, but he is still giving away an edge to competent and good players post flop.

I do like the way he plays the game in respect of him creating action, going with his reads and playing fearless poker but as I've mentioned on other threads, a little bit of coaching would make his high variance style of PLO play far more effective and a lot harder to play against than it currently is.

Leon does play PLO poorly, and the Mr Rob dude who's in that game is atrocious. They're playing 2k straddle every hand now, do some math on what an actual normal winrate in that game means lol....

I think Rob Yong is decent at PLO and plays a more effective and dangerous version of high variance PLO than Leon.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rob is a net winner at PLO in these high stakes games because although he might not understand all of the technical stuff I think he understands enough to win by using his bigger bank roll, lack of fear and some live reads skills to steal equity from opponents in a lot of hands and to not give up his own equity very easily to opponents.

The players who are "better" than him I assure you are not that comfortable playing against his particular style of play, nor are they immune from losing their level of play or even tilting if he goes on a heater whilst playing what they might consider to be less than GTO in some pots.

Yeah as far as rec/businessmen go, Rob ain't half bad.

I'd give a similar analysis of Matt Kirk -- although he plays just horrid, he's likely a winner bcuz he gets to play with whales all the time

PLO definitely is the perfect game for this though, ofc. I can't recall who said it but it was some HS crusher (I believe it might have been sauce?), something along the lines of: "PLO is a great game for fish. NLHE these days must be terrible, you would just almost literally never win a single hand if you're the mark. In PLO you can just cold 4b anything and be like 45/55 vs aces"

And "the long run" barely exists in live PLO due to hands/hr and the variance, even with the huge edges to be had...

edit: and just as I write this out Leon gets it in 3way pre crushing Matt Kirk and 2nd guy for half a mill.. Damn it, Leon, play along here.
