Do the PLO games tend to run on any certain days or times? I have tried calling Texas Card House directly, but they just tell me that it is pretty random and it depends on who shows up. They estimated that PLO goes about once per week. I strongly dislike live NL.

Btw, I am an LHE guy and am not very confident in my PLO game... just wanna try live PLO for the first time at smallish stakes without having to travel.

Thanks for any help!

PLO and "smallish stakes" is an oxymoron sir...lol

Were any other players at Carl's in Houston last week when a player pulled a gun on another player that was berating him? Been playing at Clive's new place and feel much safer. Anyone playing at the under ground games be careful.

What? I hope someone has more to that story.

Anybody plays at Alamo Card House often? I am probably going to start going there after the holidays. How are the games? Tourneys and cash games? I saw that they are looking for a Omaha Hi/Lo dealer so does that mean they play Omaha8? That would be kinda cool.

You absolutely would find yourself facing money laundering charges at the second location.

I have been going a couple times a week for the last two months. The cash games are good, a lot of action. It's 1/2 but you can buy-in for $500 or 100% of the big stack.

Tournaments seem to get 30-40 players.

They have at least one table of Omaha going each night. It's one round of Omaha and one round of Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or better.

Sounds like a good place then. Will check it out soon.

Hi Sam,

I have no issues with most of the changes and am looking forward to the 1 hour earlier start time. That said, the change to the RSVP list timing from 1 hour before start time to 30-minutes before presents a major issue for me and likely others.

Currently I can sign up online at 6pm from home, verify that I made the top 20-30 players by phone (so I know its worth the drive down there) and then drive across town through heavy traffic to reach the TCH by 7pm (usually takes 45min-55min).

Under the new way, if I can't sign up til 5:30pm and have to get there by 6pm to make the top 20-30 list, I would have to leave my house BEFORE signing up.

This ruins the process as now I'd have to pull over on the side of road to sign up via cell phone at exactly 5:30pm, hope that I got in the top 20-30, and then if I get there at 6pm to find out I am player 31-60, I just wasted an hour going through rush hour traffic to find out I won't even be sat at a table til 8-9pm.

I am in support of the increased fees, the new start times etc but strongly against the new 5:30pm sign-up time as it should definitely be move up to 5pm (perhaps even 4:30 or 4:45pm) to avoid the nightmare scenario above.

In addition this gives an unfair advantage to those who live further away as they must sign up by cell phone in transit whereas the people who live close by can sign up via their home computers and get an earlier spot due to the better internet connection of a home cpu vs cell phone.

Thanks and for the record, I have greatly enjoyed playing there since you've been open and hope you can find a way to revise this sign-up time policy to enable me to continue playing there regularly!!

^ I actually haven't played there in 4-5 months for this very reason, and I live 8 miles away . I love the idea of starting an hour earlier, but there has to be a better way to know if you will get seated immediately.

Any plans to add tables, or are there still about 3 to start with a max of 5?

Hopefully this could be the start of something good
11-13-2016 , 04:54 PM
we have used the reservation system for year for all our operations...it requires that someone be on duty all the waking hours and to input the data IMMEDIATELY..you can sign up from 12:01 am and since our team never sleeps it works out just fine...lol

Live @ Clive's - which club 333 is our first club with more in the works stays many steps ahead of curve

Good to see you posting here Clive, I just followed you on twitter. Would I need to bring anything special for a first timer at 333 besides an ID and cash?

just a positive attitude to have a good time

the premise is NOT to turn this club or the others I plan on opening into gambling halls - they are meant to give a window in which you can play for a time - have a good time and GO HOME

Club 333 has spun off on its own - I am no longer involved with it

I will be opening a new club with my own monies and this way I have 100% authority on its operation.

I have created a zee map for determining where people would most like to like to see a new club to be centered

https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=2344095

If you are interested in having a place to play for $3/4 per half hr and to have a club that gives back to the community - place your marker to help.

I have been to the Poker Rooms of Texas in Plano a few times.

They are only two weeks old but already getting traction in the area. Routinely two tables going but have 7 tables on the floor. Dealers with WSOP and casino experience so good procedures and pace to the game.

Plays like a casino poker room instead of the underground games that rake you to death. At $9 per hour it is easily the most economical option to play poker.

[ Texas Card House expanding ]

To all Texas Card House Members and Friends:

The Texas Card House is being remodeled and the renovations are taking a little longer than expected.

We will be closed tomorrow Tuesday Jan 10 to finish up the first stage of the remodel. We look forward to having you back on Wednesday the 11th for normal business hours.

Please forgive our construction mess for the rest of this month as we make everything bigger and better at the card house.

Coming Soon:
New Cashiers Cage
High stakes/PLO Game Room
More tourney & cash tables available
With the additional tables, we are excited to announce that the Tuesday and Friday tournaments will go back to 3 tables of action.
We will also be able to offer Pot Limit Omaha every night that we are open with the introduction of our new PLO & High Stakes Room at the Texas Card House.

We know this is a short notice, so help us spread the word that we will be closed this Tuesday Jan 10.

Thanks,
Texas Card House.

Checked out the card club in Plano. Had better action than the other underground clubs in the area. Without their promotion I would have paid $32 in rake, which is easily half as much as I would have paid under the rake structures of the underground games.

Only issue I see for them (besides their questionable legality), is the structure makes the "rake" much more notacible to a recreational player.
