Obviously, american players organized so well that the UIGEA never passed...
Point is, we got screwed by our own government AND pokerstars. You can chose to help us put some kind of pressure on Stars, or you can just sit that one out.
Posting that kind of crap serves no other purpose than to show how much of a moron you are.

I hope this strike just sends a warning message to all the sites that players are willing to fight back against any future rise in rake.

The Pokerstars.fr strike thread has over 503 posts in it, yet people think they're original when they make 'surrender' or 'late' jokes. Reeeeally?

Don't do this on a Friday-> Sunday.

Weekends are the MOST PROFITABLE DAYS for cash game players. All you're going to do is piss off the regulars and plethora of weekend warrior fish (who won't know why you're doing this). I can guarantee you that 99% of cash game regulars WON'T PARTICIPATE ON A SUNDAY and you're going to piss off your supporters more than Pokerstars.

DUDE!!! You people need to learn to read and educate yourselves. This was all knowledge to the French before they opened up .FR.

Take note of how the PPA board members read all drafts and language of Bills before they are considered "good" for poker players....

Again, little late, don't you think?

This is all news to me but here is my 2 cents.

If I owned the site...

You getting a bunch of players to stop playing on my site for good in protest, would scare me.

You slowing down a bunch of cash games for a few hours, wouldn't make me flinch in the least. Its like the gas day long strikes that do nothing.

+1

Just no longer play on pokerstars. This is a far better form of protest that Stars will actually care about.

But it is actually the French government that is the problem and they won't care, so oh well....

Don't you understand that? :

IF YOU DO THIS SIT OUT, WHEN YOUR GOVERNMENTS WILL TRY TO "REGULATE" POKER, THEY'LL MAKE COME ROOMS TO DISCUSS, AND ROOMS WILL SAYS TO YOUR GOVERMENTS: "NO WE CAN'T DO SUCH THINGS, HAVE SUCH A BIG RAKE FOR EXEMPLE, OR WE'LL HAVE OTHER GLOBAL SIT OUTS!"
SO ROOMS WILL NEGOCIATE FOR YOU SCARED OF SUCH STRIKES!
YOU'LL HAVE THE BEST OFFERS YOU CAN HAVE!

General TK1133 is filing a motion to the Mods to close and lock this thread. Involving my country and it's player base in France's effort to destabalize the poker market with a "global strike",(which is already crippled,) is irrelevent and damaging to our own cause.

Keep your .FR. issues in France. I'll let the PPA fight for my rights as a poker player, not French poker players...

[QUOTE=yogadude;20091726]I usually take mondays off anyhow so I'm in.[/QU lol at striking for 3 hours and thinking it will change anything. Stop playing on the site and send stars mass emails.

The level of rake online is completely unjustifiable as it is. Stars and Tilt have been taking the p*** out of all of us. Its time we set a date and built up enough support for a similar strike that would hurt their bottom line. All rake to be reduced by 30%, permanently. These are hard times

Pissing off fish that won´t play anymore on pokerstars is the only effect this strike will have

If I were american, i would be very embarrassed for you to be a fellow citizen (im not french either before you make some ******ed assumption). You sir clearly are not the brightest as shown in your beauty LOL thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...cerned-814293/

Also if you do not think this kind of government regulation does not affect you, you are even dimmer than i thought as your amazing land of the free country just had the UIGEA come into effect, with government regulation likely looming around the bend. Anyways, continue to make an ass of yourself and represent america ITT you ignorant tard.

As for the whole do not play on PS is better than strike, I have to agree (I took my money out of PS.com, although i usually play on another site unless i feel like playing a lottery). I feel that a strike clearly is accomplishing something or the owner of PS would not have contacted that individual with concerns.

I can assure you that there's fishes on PS.fr and I've not seen less traffic since last strike.
Most people not aware joined the movement after explaining in chatbox.

I mean, I understand that you've been handed a big **** sandwich... but you really are delusional if you think you're going to strong-arm Stars with these "strikes". I hate to break it to you, but these are going to be less and less successful as time goes on.

The thing that will truly make Stars think twice about their rake structure is if the games really are no longer beatable. There will be no long-term regs because nobody will win = less and less and less rake for Stars. If/when that happens Stars will change the rake. Staging smaller and smaller "strikes" isn't going to do ****. Sorry.

I'm at a loss as to why you think Stars owes you a damn thing. If you don't think the games on their site are profitable then don't play there. It's really that simple. I don't get why this is such a huge deal. You still have plenty of other options... use them?

Well, for the record, I'm not concerned what a degenerate gambler feels about his fellow Americans.

For two, I don't like France, don't like their policies, don't like their attitude. Honestly, don't really care if you have a problem w/ my OPINION.

But to involve America(and think it's a good idea) in a global effort to destabalize the Poker Economy, b/c of the .FR issues, is outright embarrassing. It's not Poker Stars fault nor the USA's problem that your Gov't is cheap...

Again, I trust the PPA to represent and direct me in appropriate ways to help our cause. Striking Poker Stars was not one of them...

no eff eks - why would the owner of pokerstars call up the person organizing the strikes if it was not effective??

tk234879234 - lol your gov't could do the same shortly and the PPA sure did alot to stop the UIGEA

Hmmm...Now you critisize and downplay the PPA's efforts? Safe Port Act?

-Guess they shoulda saw that one coming.

-The owner of PS called the strike organizer to rationally explain to them why a strike IS NOT a good idea just like Nuclear War is NOT a good idea.(There will be no winners) No pun intended...
