2+2 is a commercial operation which makes money from advertising, book sales, and rake from players who've signed up with 2+2 as their affiliate.

It is standard practice for the bigger forums to employ full-time moderator-writer-administrators, whether they work from home or an office. I just learned for example that The Hendon Mob has four full-time paid employees.

I'm not saying every single 2+2 moderator should be paid. But certainly the most senior ones should be, especially when they're putting in more than 60 hours a week.

I think $600 a week would be a reasonable sum; if anything, an underpayment. He adds immense value to the site.

So, why is Kevmath not fairly rewarded for his work here? Can there really be any answer except that he's being exploited, and his goodwill taken advantage of?
dude... how long have you been homeless now? do you really think that people listen to your advice on concerns with money?

I was very excited and happy for Kevin, we have spent many days talking and I care for him as a friend and am extremely proud of him for doing this. Please consult with people before u claim u know what they think. Thank you.
maybe you guys cut some scenes. but after re-watching, im pretty confident you were using the connection issues as a type of stalling because you didn't know how to approach the question. you seem to answer all questions before and after that question, coincidently, with not really any connection issues. the thing is you felt alittle off guard/uncomfortable about the question imo

"i presume that you asked me that was i excited about kevmath showing up"
"yes"
...5 second pause
"yes"
"umm...well we talked about it, and we did interviews together hahaha..."

...you knew what they were asking. that doesnt mean you were not excited about meeting him. anyways, you are very nice to him!

I do like Kevmath though.
If you knew how much money some poker affiliate sites make, you would realize $600 a week is absolutely nothing. I don't know how much 2+2 makes in comparison to the huge dedicated rakeback sites, but I'm told it's a very significant player in the market. Therefore to not pay their core moderating staff seems very, very sketchy.

I also find it offensive to suggest that what KevMath does here is something that "any fool" could do. That might be the case for forums where a moderator's role is simply to delete inappropriate posts, merge duplicate threads, clarify thread titles, etc.

But as we have all seen, KevMath's role in NVG is much more than that. He is not simply a passive rearranger of content, but actively involved in knowing what's going on in poker, finding and posting information, answering questions, and in effect being the custodian of the busiest forum on 2+2.

Again, it comes down to this: Is KevMath's work directly creating value for the site, and are other people financially benefiting from his work? If so, is it fair that he is not rewarded for it?

Whether he's a volunteer or not doesn't make his exploitation right or acceptable.

edit: yes, I think that Kevmath deserves to be paid something by 2+2. if Matt were calling the shots, he would pay Kevmath, but Mason and David are far too stereotypical (Jewish)
I'm not homeless and never have been, if you mean in the sense of sleeping in the street or in a hostel or shelter.

And as of five months ago, I have a full-time job working for a poker site. Luckily they didn't interview KevMath, or I doubt I'd have got the job.

How about this?

A 2 hour webstream or just chat show from a tournament location which VeeRob sets up, WhoJedi moderates, and Kevmath answers anything poker. I could also jump in and answer ruling questions and live tournament concerns. People could voluntary ship Kevmath and Jay (also needs work) a couple bucks online if they so desire?

Are you deaf AND blind? You could clearly hear and see the choppy connection during the interview, and it was pretty bad while she was trying to answer the kevmath question.

But w/e, believe w/e make you happy.

He was implying that she was pretending to be a woman to get attention and is really a loser guy, which was dead wrong on all counts.

It sucks when The Man volunteers my services and then suggests I shouldn't get compensated. But I'm obv in.
