If it gets DNegs bumped from his sponsorship then it's a win all around.

Literally no one outside of poker knows who Durrr, Patrik, Blom or Ivey are... you're thinking from an inside poker perspective. You need to get NEW people into the game that don't know anything and get them interested. You can't do that with established players, because only people already in poker know who they are. I would even bet that less than 20% of the American population knows who Dnegs is.... and it's probably a lot, lot lower. Don't believe me? Go to your work (yes it's amazing to think people on here have actual jobs, I mean, we're all winning players right??) and ask your co-workers if they know him.

And stasrs have used several athletes and probably realized that they dont bring any revenue to the site. Now trying something different. Just a matter of time when Jesse Pinkman gets signed.

Tangentially related, but I had a chuckle at this obvious product placement. I wonder how much that cost, the channel has 3.5 million subs.

Neil Diamond and David Spade will be their next two big celeb signings...... the one after that will be tricky to find.

Can I say that whatever they paid, it was extremely worth it for this level of acting skill.

If true, this is a slam dunk signing "for poker."

First of all, why would anyone think otherwise? He's like the mega most succesful comedian out there right now.

Secondly, he's a very "fun player" at the poker table, in both senses of the term.

It's probably the best celebrity/poker branding partnership ever.

All valid points, he does love the game. ROW recognition seems like only draw back. Opinion changed.

bc most poker nerds have no common sense and think the world revolves around poker.

so when they're better at poker than a whale who dumps money they think they're smarter/better at life than the whale. and when someone famous like kevin hart gets a poker endorsement they take it as an afront to some grinder they feel deserves it instead bc he's better at poker than hart.

The whole concept of 'signing' some marginal celeb or sports star to promote a poker site is a bit odd tbh, especially when that someone apparently isn't that well known.

What's wrong with just a straight TV advert? Don't get it.

A lot of moves by Amaya the last few years indicates that they have a marketing department staffed by 50 year olds trying really hard to be hip. Many of these initiatives fall flat on their faces. This one, I think, makes a lot more sense.

Yeah. It's pretty ****ing bass ackwards.

Where do you nerds think the money comes from???

The only problem is that the country where he's most recognizable doesn't let you play online poker. Not sure how much marketing impact he will have with SA, EU, or Asia.

Then again maybe it's a sign that things are going in the right direction for PS in the US.

lol this is ridiculous (the thread title and negative sentiment). How do you think it could be bad for poker? It might be the best personality signed by Stars ever to bring new people into the game.

Kevin Hart isn't marginal celeb, he's basically the top man in comedy right now. I believe he's the highest paid comedian.... A List.

"A List" would be someone with global name recognition. He does seem to be popular in the US but (apart from New Jersey) that doesn't really help Stars.

Kevin Hart is definitely A list. "Seem to be Popular" aka he's the most famous comedian atm and possibly most bankable movie star?

Lol fin L that there is anything but positive sentiment towards this signing.
