Kevin Hart signed with PokerStars WTF?? - Page 2 - Poker News

Is it really about twitter and Instagram though?? IMO the people FTP signed on were a lot more motivating than an American actor would be. Then again most of team FTP are either broke or scammers now.

Literally no one outside of poker knows who Durrr, Patrik, Blom or Ivey are... you're thinking from an inside poker perspective. You need to get NEW people into the game that don't know anything and get them interested. You can't do that with established players, because only people already in poker know who they are. I would even bet that less than 20% of the American population knows who Dnegs is.... and it's probably a lot, lot lower. Don't believe me? Go to your work (yes it's amazing to think people on here have actual jobs, I mean, we're all winning players right??) and ask your co-workers if they know him.

If true, this is a slam dunk signing "for poker."

First of all, why would anyone think otherwise? He's like the mega most succesful comedian out there right now.

Secondly, he's a very "fun player" at the poker table, in both senses of the term.

It's probably the best celebrity/poker branding partnership ever.

The only problem is that the country where he's most recognizable doesn't let you play online poker. Not sure how much marketing impact he will have with SA, EU, or Asia.

Then again maybe it's a sign that things are going in the right direction for PS in the US.

"A List" would be someone with global name recognition. He does seem to be popular in the US but (apart from New Jersey) that doesn't really help Stars.

Hart is also very popular in Europe.
even in Asia he gets sold out every damn time..

So yeah global recog, solid signing overall.
