In all seriousness it depends on how much time you have. If you're there for the entire series then i'd grind out 2/5. If you're there for only a week before the ME i'd play STTs and take all of the last longer action. I've seen pretty big last longer bets so even if you dont win the STTs you could potentially still profit 10k in just a couple games.

Their pretty profitable. You can often get stupid deals once you get shorthanded.

Usually people just want to even chop. I got offered an even chop with 90% of the chips and an even chop with 20% of the chips in play.

I took one of those deals.

It's very likely that $500 would go back into the poker economy, either in a cash game or another satellite. And by that $500 going back into satellites more lightweight players will have a shot into one of your big boy MTTs, helping you.

If you need an excuse to not buy lammers you can always just say "sry i'm trying to get rid of my own". It's a fairly believable and non-confrontational response if you want to go that route.

Like other foreigners subject to the 30% tax, I have to avoid buying into MTTs in the US, so I'm planning to play satellites (or cash games). Aside from the WSOP Rio, where else can you grind satellites? Does Venetian DSE or other series use transferable lammers like WSOP? Does Planet Hollywood or other casinos have satellites where you are given cash?
