Hey everyone - Silly (and clean) jokes or whatever comments are fine.

Political rants about the rich paying a majority of the taxes or why McCain sucks or is awesome or any of that other stuff that belongs in the politics forum is NOT welcome here.

This is NOT going to become an opportunity for you to post some politics rant. If you post something that we deem is going to turn this into some big politics flame-war back and forth then you will get an infraction.
We just don't need it. Go yell at your office-workers about why they should vote for one person or the other. This thread isn't the place.

Another reason to vote for Obama. I think we've had enough of a president who takes -EV gambols at the pits

Bah...politicians go to church on Sunday's or say they do and decry gambling and prostitution from the steps to the faithful voting followers...but when Monday comes there is a new guy going back to work.

Just because someone does something doesn't mean he will stick his neck out and legislate for it. I seriously doubt gambling is on the radar right now with either candidate, we might have bigger fish to fry currently.

Some of the politicians don't have a problem with gambling in general.
But it's this evil and unregulated stuff from off-shore internet places that they don't understand in the least and they somehow think might relate to funding terrorism or money-laundering, etc.

I really don't think any politician gambling in a U.S. casino necessarily relates to whether they will be helpful in this whole online gambling thing.

very true. if this were the case, prostitution would have been legalized ages ago, and probably subsidized by now.

I saw a clip of Obama talking about this article on MSNBC today. He said about what you would expect regarding McCain but also mentioned that he "likes a friendly game of poker."

Less. Indian casinos hate online gambling because some of their potential customers will play online rather than at the casino, afaik.

The same goes for "charitable" bingo, horse and greyhound racing, and the forty-two states that have lotteries. They don't want to allow anything (online gambling/poker) that might divert a dime out of their pockets.
