This would be great if this hadnt been the worst final table ever. Guy says nothing of being lucky, only of numbers odds, blah blah, like hes talking to people who didnt see what happened...

It's not really a great time to be emphasizing the element of chance in poker to a media outlet that doesn't understand the game. He's out there promoting the game, this is a good thing.

That's exactly who he was talking to. The best thing that could happen for us is to have Mr. & Mrs. America figure that the guy with the most skill won. So I'm for letting him talk that way and cutting out the "biggest luckbox since Yang and Gold and Hachem and Moneymaker and Varkonyi, and the rest," speeches. It may do us some good on the poker legislation front.

Yea no kidding. The worst part about the interview is he did not properly diminish the fact that he didnt start playing online until he was 18. He should have put more emphasis on that. Last thing poker players need is underage poker being brought back into the forefront.

As for him not talking about luck, do you really think he is going to diminish himself on national television like that. "Yea, I really am not that good. I just got lucky. Won't ever happen again. I mean hes world champion, hes not going to bring himself down.

Who told him to change his story that he's only been playing online since he was 18 instead of 15?

Still watching it but thought it was pretty funny when the male interviewer basically asked him, "how much did you lose?"

Wow, not this.

Interviews like this make me glad someone like Joe won, it's nice to see someone who actually understands the game and is able to portray it in a positive light.

when this guy talks i want to vomit. it may be jealousy, but there is just somethin' about the way he talks that i can't stand. two types of winning players: those u admire/fear and those u wanna bust. cada is most prob a better player than myself but i wuld luv to felt him.

their level of condescension is unreal. "yeah please go back to school... PLEASE put at least one million of that aside in a money market account so you dont gamble it all away..."

That is the reaction that most people away from poker will have, and it's the correct one. I would tell him the exact same thing.

Yep managed to tilt me more than any downswing yet....

That guy had his own house earned by playing poker before the tournament and they behave like he won a freeroll -.-

Wow JOe Cada is an awsome WSOP Champion, finally someone that is fairly well spoken, and makes the game come off like it is a feasible profession in stead of some luck based, degen game. That guy that did the interview is a ****ing idiot, everything he said was awkward/ignorant/rude. "Put a million in a MMA or something"..."Put a lot more than that".

Kudos to Joe Cada.

Well I think it was a good interview and Joe seems like a really likable guy. If I wasn't a poker player already, Id prolly go online and check out pokerstars after that.

That interview is good for poker. I definitely liked the drawing a distinction between poker and other forms of gambling. And I doubt Darvin Moon would be mentioning that in interviews if he would have won.
