True. I'm dumb. I didn't take that the 3x would reduce his edge

Obviously Ivey and Antonius are both great players, but they have both had many chances to play Isildur. None of them seem eager to battle him over a meaningful sample of hands, especially at the highest stake available in online poker as rabscott was hoping for.
It's not a hard question to answer. They are both smart, seeking out isi when he's crushing and in the zone isn't exactly a good plan is it?

Here's whats gonna happen; isi peaks at 4mil profit, proceeds to dump 2mill then goes on monkeytilt at PLO/limit and loses the rest to everyone who jumps in to play when he's tilting.

Just to clarify; I don't want that to happen... Imagine if he continues to crush everyone and just sits like king of the hill at every limit?

It's amusing that Isil is asking for Sauce to play a certain way - I do think I'm with Sauce on this one (though I personally hate the button limping).

I just think that Isil needs to adjust to it.

Sauce is playing Alex Luneau at NL 2-7 sd 200/400 with ante

sauce can just say no and not play if isil asks for 3x, no need to be upset about it.

I'm not asking any questions.

By your logic, the person that causes this downswing has to be stupid, as any smart person would avoid him when he's crushing.

That's not the way it works. If you think you have an edge over a guy and you know he has millions in his bankroll, you play him.

Ivey and Antonius haven't exactly been queuing up to play anyone, fish or not fish. My guess is that they have other action/projects that they believe to be more profitable than online poker at the moment.

I'm with Sauce on this. Poker should not be about pleasing your opponent. Everybody has every right to play however they want. If one doesn't like it, he will get no action.

anyone noticed galfond playing 500/1k 10-game vs. Betong?

But even tho he is crushing right now I find it strange that someone do not sit with him at 6max plo and then just take sitout and wait for more people to come and join. Lot of 6max players way better then him.

In the ivey espn interview he actually talks about how if someone is crushing a live game, he will not sit in the game even if he thinks he has an edge over that person because of how good they play when they are doing well. Idk if antonius plays the same way bcuz he's had long sessions online (as opposed to ivey who usually hit n runs)

but ya, I agree, Ivey is playing huge games in Macau that are 3-4x this and the money is probably way easier

Yes that's true but in Sauce's defence it's pretty dumb to ask someone to play you a certain way.

"Excuse me, would you mind not 3betting me so much and calling more? I find it easier to play. Thank you".

how hard can it be to calculate an optimal paired strategy when player is forced to open to 3x or fold? I don't get why sauce just doesn't adjust his strat
01-08-2013 , 07:27 PM
yes it is kind of funny/strange. at the same time it is within his right to ask for 3x, and saying "no ty" seems like a better response than getting upset about it.

he should ask for 3x/9x next time
