For people that can't see the video the likely issue is simply not pressing play. If you just click on the video you'll be sent to the hosting site and likely lost. You just press the play button and it will work. If you click anywhere else you are likely screwed. Hope that clears it up.

no, we're not that ******ed . we see the image below, and there is no play button. sucks that you guys have made an awesome video and loads of people can't see it. and please sort out the interview archive, it used to be possible to download all podcasts on demand, now the oldest links are gone. love the site!

Troy Gamble looks more ridiculous with every post. It seems like you're just jealous that these kids will have awesome lives and get to do whatever they want. Quit crying just cause you were poor and your parents didn't love you enough to give you any money.

Also I don't understand the hating on this video ITT. The point of it was to show how these guys live and what they're like. No one said it was supposed to be a high quality production.

Also nice sh00ter shoutout.

If you think you have an edge on him (which they clearly do) I would take the slowroll every now and then and don't talk bad about him.

Saw these guys when I hit The Blueman Group this summer in Vegas and they were with the entire family and just acting like super nice to each other. I remember when I was younger I would always fight with my brother and sister - so sick that they have such a big family and still are so tight.

The hanging on the beanbag was pretty gay (lol) but **** that - the atmosphere was great, the talking was very good and overall you guys did a great job. Not just showing the house (like High Stakes Living) but while you're there making a serious interview off it: job well done!
So you want them to lie or give canned answers like everyone else does on every other interview? I prefer honesty. If Gus acts like a dick in chat and slowrolls, etc., I think he expects and can handle some criticism. Also lmao at you knowing Gus based on meeting him a few times.

I see the online communication gap there, can someone tell the Dang brothers that "UPS" doesn't mean "u piece of sh%t" or "oops". Am I the only one who noticed this?

I can't remember where I saw it (probably an interview), but Gus has explained before that indeed "ups" means "oops" in Danish.

think i remember a podcast interview where a name player possibly gus explained that he'd typed 'ups' in chat meaning to say oops, whether misspelt/different language, after he sucked out in a pot. opponent then said like 'yeah you'll be working for them soon if you play like that'. then the nomenclature (lol) also became a synonym for 'ship it' in some circles

No you didn't notice it because the brothers never said it means "u piece of sh%t" -- that was the interviewer. I think TREX tried to say the meaning(Dutch) but was cut off by others a couple of times.

Just finished watching it. Very neat segment and I hope that the MPR guys can maybe conduct similar interviews with other DC locals such as CTS and such.

Couple things from the interview:

- Hac says 'like' soooo much

- Love the interviewing topics. Pretty neat to get inside the minds of these guys.

- +1 on the Asian values and family-oriented lifestyle. Awesome to see these guys stick to their roots and watch their siblings grow up and be there for them.

- The flips were quite enjoyable, although I'm not sure if I believe they were the first time Zi's ever 'flipped'.

- LoL @ BestofFive story

- Is the 1st brother in the interview the one who plays on Stars (I think under the name ilvdnfl?)

Great work and I hope there are future installments.

I presume you mean "From Busto To Robusto". It is definitely a great short, and I need to thank you for introducing me to the series. Psyched to see the next installment.

I'm not going to feel bad about our film not being up to that standard for a bunch of reasons:
  • 918 Films - the company that created "Busto" - shoots in HD (and I will be SD until March 2010);
  • 918 has a full crew - a writer, cinematographer, director, producer, sound guys and plenty of additional staff (my staff was me and a boom mic operator);
  • the guys at 918 make films for a living and they are able to work on productions as many of us would work on our day jobs (I devoted the little free time I had in September to it, and even that only totalled about 40 hours);
  • 918 spent days getting footage including a lot of on-location stuff (we spent four hours total at the Dang's house to capture about 100 minutes of footage);
  • 918 used three commercial production houses for post production work (I did everything on one computer in my basement)
... the list could go on. I dunno - guess I'm just trying to say that your comparison is a bit unfair (even though that standard of quality is something I can aspire to).

The use of the beanbag has been almost universally criticized. You are calling this "ghetto" based almost solely on how people were sitting, which seems pretty extrinsic. It overlooks the content completely, but that's your prerogative.

Here's the truth: as everyone filed into the war room while we were setting up our cameras, people just kinda crashed wherever and right in the middle of the room was this enormous beanbag. Everyone started talking - some awesome stuff that we didn't capture because we were still setting up, actually.

When we were ready to start shooting, I figured we should try to preserve that casual vibe instead of setting people up in director's chairs or something like that ... like every other interview you've ever seen. The reason EB's position ended up appearing awkward was because he was trying to sit on the beanbag while still facing the camera.

Lesson learned, believe me.

Bean bags are awesome. I think anything that gives an insight into high-stakes poker like this video does is cool. Well worth watching.
