I grind micros and if rake was capped at 50c at all limits I wouldn't give a flying eff if VIP programs were put down.

Fishs would!

Ask a random fish what he pays for rake, i think less than 30% would have an idea...Take aways the few vpp they use to register to a 1$ mtt when they are broke and they would notice right away.

Make rake little higher at 5/10 and above and use this extra income to make promotions that target recreationals.

Please ask Bob Dancer over at Gambling with an Edge.com He is a video poker expert who has a radio show and newspaper column. He would be able to talk intelligently about casinos bringing in people with slotclubs etc. which is what Pokerstars VIP program is most like.

This.

Traffic wouldn't stay the same. OP doesn't seem to understand how the VIP system works.

i think the only thing that needs to be done is all these all in shootout tournaments that just give away 15k here 20k there 100k there...

Rather than crapshooting all those money, rather reward the regulars more, or the prizepools or something other than that..

Rather make a 100k shootout for only supernova's then you would have so many people chasing supernova instead of playing 5 zoom hands...

I would be pretty happy if Stars went to a daily/rakeback program for all players with a few levels. 15% for everyone up to 30% for high volume (vip players). Stars gives fish nothing even if they deposit and play a crapload of volume on that deposit.

High volume players being able to convert their rakeback to get in live and big tournaments at reduced rate would also be OK.

Simplify things and let the fish think they are getting a shot. They deposit $500 -- play a lot of volume and lose. Next day they have 48 bucks in their account. Gives them 1 more shot and makes them happy after bottoming out.

How about making the VIP program optional for every player?

Click 'opt-in' in your settings and be a part of the current system.

Choose not to opt-in and receive instant rakeback (effectively rake reduction) deposited back into your account every hand you play.

Obviously a disincentive for players to put in volume but really it's no different to abolishing the VIP system and reducing rake and do micro players seriously put in volume for the rakeback?

This idea is really bad for a few reasons.

1) casual players are the guys the site makes the most out of in terms of per dollars. Why would they reduce the amount they earn on them?
2) doing this means regulars who have worked hard for Supernova and supernova elite now get a giant middle finger in their face
3) no incentive for volume
4) try tell everybody poker is a game of dedication and skill, then removing VIP systems is a bit backwards

Opt in effectively means those who opt in gain a higher rakeback status....
those who worked hard for it already get higher....
stars earns less.....

in short, don't be lazy if you want higher rewards

iv seen your posts in a couple threads now...no offense but your ideas are terrible. And they are all comming from a gambler/non-pro perspective. They don't sound at all what the community wants, just you.

firstly...bronzestar i think you already get 15%....
secondly....supernova =40%
and supernova elite =60%
supernova elite repeat is 70%ish

so why would anybody ever agree to 15% and 30% for high volume players?

also what defines high volume. High rake? game count?

Have you ever played just a few extra hands to get your next VIP stellar reward? Now you know why the VIP program is there.
