WTF do these kids get all the money to gamble online. My allowance was like $20 when I was 12.

Kev, is the full text of the amendments available online yet? Or are you just listening a lot better than I am (which I do not doubt, for you are a superhero).

which says nothing about a 12-year old gambler. There was a mention of a 17-year old, but bachus keeps bringing up this supposed 12-year old...

This is my exact point to Craig!!

I got 50cents to wash the car and 25 cents to shine my Dads work shoes and 2.00 to do the yard. How are they depositing and no one has brought up you have to send these sites valid ID to receive any money. Why would one play not to make money? This is politic at it's finest fellas!

However in this country we have those do-gooders like the southern baptist who still do not allow their children to have a dance at the church preaching how WRONG this is out of one side of their mouth, while their watching porn and talking dirty out the other side of their mouth.

Bean's amendment passes.

Now the manager's amendment:

Adds that bets not be made with credit cards (prepaid/debit card only).

House Financial Services Committee has no jurisdiction on tribal rights

Working to get parallel language to protect tribes

Self-exclusion list

Bachus is postering. We see his BS don't you think everyone in that room see's it.

The politicians minds are already made up. This is going to the House for a Vote, Barney knows that. Then to the Senate where it will have a tough time unless Obama secretly steps in.

No sane credit card company would allow charges to gambling sites anyway.

I reference my earlier point. You're missing a large element of the bigger picture. This opens the door to a new market. Yes, it closes the door to the market you know right now, so it's difficult to know if the new market will be as good (or better?) as the old market. But nonetheless....

Do you realize how many of my fishy friends who play in a 1/3 NL home game would deposit if direct advertising were prevalent and there were no stigma attached to attempting to withdraw money?

A lot of my B/M and home game friends won't deposit online because of the difficulty to get the money OFF the website.

This would bring in a HUGE amount of fishy US players.

Nope, all "gambling". It doesn't treat poker in particular at all, lumps it in with everything else, though states may be able to opt-out of casino gambling but not opt-out for poker (not sure on this one).
