It's hard to make me legit giggle out loud but Gabe finds a way. Phil Hellmuth deep down in my opinion seems to be very insecure about all the hate he gets from his colleagues. He genuinely thinks he's the best in the world. His colleagues genuinely think he's not the best or even close. That just drives Phil absolutely mental because he is a narcist. It's very entertaining to watch I have to admit.

lol, no. I am just repeating what he kept saying multiple times over. He comes off as extremely insecure as a person.

He has a ton of skins on the wall, so he doesn't have to brag about all of his accomplishments. They really do speak for themselves. He is one of the greatest poker players of all time and no one can really deny it. He is a **** cash game player, and that is OK.

I don't think he believes he is best. He knows he is a clown. It is just marketing.

Disagree, Phil is who he shows himself to be, not an act. He genuinely thinks he the best poker player to ever walk the Earth in my opinion.

Not in a million years 100% purposefully lets himself go to perform the act that keeps up traffic for his livelihood.

Funny how these interpretations can differ completely depending on ones perspective.

Phil is just sitting there saying over and over again how he's gonna make a big hand and get paid off, over and over and over again.

It's absolutely ****ing pathetic and I can't wait to see the reaction to a certain already known hand next week (put it in the spoiler for those that don't know)

Spoiler:
Polk folds T7 on J98 vs PH's QT when PH jams for like 50x pot or something

Watching the episode of poker after dark with this sean perry kid. a couple hours in and just like on hsp he's basically playing tight/passive and trying to talk up action.unless he really imploded i don't know why people are saying he's some action player.

solomons instincts are really good postflop.

Wow just rewatched season 1 ep5 again

What a cool episode with Sammy humming along playing any 2 making 90k over the course of the play then the last hand of the night Barry gets Aces and Farha Ks... Just brutal

It's also hilarious to see how much everyone hates and needles Shawn Sheiky

Not a big PH fan but in his niche he is one of the best ever. When it comes to large, live NL freeze out MTT, PH might be GOAT. For cash games, he isn’t making his living from the big TV games. He is a dog against the best HL cash game players but is probably a dominator in the Silicon Valley private games.

I know it's been said over and over but AJ and Gabe are the fkn nuts. They are just completely timeless, back in the old HSP days Gabe followed the flow of the game way more and had loads of insights about the players from being more in and around the scene. He doesn't have that as much these days but adapted completely and they never skip a beat, absolute endboss commentary pairing.

I said before EP1 I thought they'd probably not be as good as they were in the old days, but honestly couldn't have been more wrong, I've absolutely loving the HSP return and I think I'd love it at least 30% less without those two.

Nice to see Durrrr roll back the years and play crazy loose bash the table up.

Yes, he's a bafflingly annoying man but defy anyone to say he doesn't make an entertaining game Phil Hellmuth! Rather in that out for me, agree with whoever said you can see why JRB is a fixture running these games he does make a difference.

Just think it's really really cool this new HSP tbh, I think COVID really upset the lineups too there's loads of players from europe and other parts of the US im sure they'd have gotten in the games, for both entertainment and nostalgia sakes had it been non-COVID times. Roll on season 9!

The line-ups really have been good so far. Would be amazing to have JRB, Helmuth, Ivey, Dwan, and Salomon all at one table.

helthmuth was anything but entertaining on this season
his rants have been funny in the past but the chronic whining is just plain irratating.

I respect the guy and I'm completely open to being ignorant, but count me among the people who super do not understand Koon's QQ call. Without Negreanu there, does he think someone else needs to be the "I don't beat anything; I call" guy?

It's especially odd considering he seemed to be overemphasizing the shove aspect of the bet. Unless I'm misremembering, it was basically only like 75% pot. But even at that, I'd be surprised to see his combo in what we're theoretically forced to call on this river in a 4bet pot.

His FH fold also confused me, but less so. I can imagine Tx being a fold.

He seemed to imply only very, very few hands would take this line. I suppose he didn't realize all of those hands beat him.

Isn't it funny how chaotic poker games (and life to an extent) can be.
Had Koon called earlier with his full house against Daniels, he would have left him short stacked and he could have busted before this hand even happened.
Instead he let him get away with a spot I'm sure he was overbluffing and lost a big 4b pot.

He talked about it on the RYE pod.

I don't have a timestamp, but it is later in the video. He basically said he knew the guy was a maniac and essentially, we was repping a very narrow range and QQ beat all of his bluffs and blocked a not of nut flushes that take that line.

PH doesn't really add anything. What did he get to 1 showdown? While whining that he would bust Dwan. Dude you're not touching Dwan when he's on godmode.

Loved seeing Dwan win and Koon lose. When Gabe said hellmuth looked like a black and white cookie that was so good lol.
