What makes this even funnier is that you could actually meet some real celebrities for a fraction of Hellmuth's price. Just check out the music section.

Meeting Lady Gaga at her concert $3500.
Paul McCartney Sound Check Package $3000.
Meet Aerosmith Backstage on August 8th Plus Signed Guitar $500.
Meet & Greet with Chris Cornell During Soundgarden & Nine Inch Nails' Tour $600.
Meet and Greet with Linkin Park + Two Concert Tickets $500.

So I could either have a drink with Hellmuth or meet 5 world known musicians for half the price!

I doubt that very much, maybe a 3 way charity/individual/corporation cut - had a quick look around the site and nothing is mentioned. Am vaguely curious about it but not enough to dig.

The price is SUPPOSED to be ridiculous. It's all part of his image, makes him seem even more high status. Kind of like when Jennifer Lopez took out a $27 million insurance policy on her ass.

your own perception of Hellmuths marketability is probably the only delusional thing. Just because ur jelly of PH and quietly think you're better at poker than him doesnt mean some ppl won't cough up some cash to hang out with the dude, cash that might go to charity(or more likely to the Rio)

LMAO... the only thing vaguely interesting to do would be the play against Helmuth in a poker game.

Now, I know he's prob too elevated to play the $1,500 WSOP buy-ins we mortals do, but I had a quick look around the room while playing the PLHE Event 12 yesterday and there was Ivey, Riess, Duhamel, Liebert, Joseph Cheong, Phil Collins, etc. I personally had the fortune to sit with Gavin Smith and get outed on a Twitter as a "jackass" for what I thought was a pretty standard play.

So yeah, by all means pay $1,500--have a seat at a table with a really good player for a few hours and give yourself a chance to win "life altering" money.

This. $3K for a backstage VIP event including hospitality reception with the greatest songwriter of the last 100 years at one of the final events at the Iconic Candlestick for 1/5th of what it would cost to chat with PH for a few minutes. The whole thing is embarrassing.

A friend of mine was at a business convention in Vegas; Saturday night was a 100 person freeroll texas hold em tournament. The organizers paid Helmuth $25k to appear . He schmoozed, he was funny, went table to table with a microphone. When it got down to 9 players, he pulled $1,000 out of his pocket, and asked if he could buy-in to final table. He gave all the players a nickname and ragged on everyone. He ended up coming in 3rd ( prize money for 1st place only ), and hung out for an hour after, and everyone loved him.
