How does this benefit Berkey? He was essentially forced to accept the challenge or risk what little remains of his reputation.

At sub 5k hands variance is the real winner here. No max cap also benefits whoever has the largest bankroll, which is likely to be nik.

Both competitors think online poker is fake poker because of the total absence of the capability to use real people-based poker skills like psychological operations (winning by intimidation or fake friendliness), strategic trash talk, deliberate use of influential physical mannerisms, reading body language, etc. Basically stuff anti-social hoodie wearing, dark glasses hiding, and ear plug reality denying 5-minute tankers know nothing about.

Nik Airball retracted the scammer allegation on Vertucci's podcast.

Other important info from show:

No trust fund or banking job for Airball - all of his money is from HS private games and post-stream games.
Luda Chris wouldn't play on the show unless he could use the masseuse before Vertucci.

They both have strong fundamentals PLUS have very good live psychology skills. This match goes beyond just sizing and frequencies. It also includes face to face mind reading and verbal and visual influence.

An argument can be made that Berkey has “strong” fundamentals.

I’d struggle to take seriously the opinion of someone arguing that Nik has them.

Berkey has tried the same **** to get Hellmuth to play him so **** Berkey trying to claim he’s victim, I hope he gets cleaned out.

Actually this is a good point, because nick can always push the run-good variance by always covering berkey. However this can quickly turn into a martingale type situation if berkey manages to string together some wins in a row in one session, because he can always reset the next day after 6.5 hours. Berkey will always be playing near minimum on his losing sessions, whereas nik will always be playing near maximum. And at the end of the day if they end up 1 mil deep or something because berkey doubles up a few times, the most nik can win once he gets berkey’s whole stack is 100k (assuming berkey always buys the min and never tops up). It behooves berkey to never try to cover nik and stick to a strict only top up if felted/near felted if he wants to reduce variance.
