The law is basically same thing that allow ladies night at bars in vegas. Free cover or cheap drinks for ladies, and full cost for men. You pay cover and full priced drinks because you see value. Assume this guy saw some value in his 10k. Either vs field and/or via some prop bet.

The entire purpose of having a women's event is to give women a chance to play poker without having to deal with douchebags like this guy. People like him are a huge part of why women are so turned off by poker.

Some might be looking for value in the sense that they know they are inexperienced and will feel like they have a better chance playing with other less experienced players. But they certainly aren't entering in the hope that a few men will enter an boost the prize pool.

Sure but there's much more value in doing that as a good looking rooster with game than entering this torny as a male paying 10K.

More likely he'd end up with more than first place money or at least a deal which favours him for purposefully throwing the event heads up.

Wow, only just saw this thread. I know this guy from playing pool in Mass in 2001-2002. He was well known in the pool halls around Boston as a 2-bit hustler and a straight up scumbag who would rob his own mother for a few bucks. Very good at 9-ball though, one of the top players in Boston at the time.

We used to deal some blackjack on the side taking turns being the house and he wanted to try to cheat me using a marked deck - I know this because a mutual friend called him and put him on speaker to discuss it when I didn't believe him. Also used to carry a 2-headed coin on him at all times (prob still does).

Surprised he's done so well at poker, he never struck me as particularly smart.
