Can't confirm that all of that loss is his so with his recent 1Mil upswing plus rakeback and fees from FT he is personally only down now about 350.

OK this promo is taking a lot of bashing but to be fair they have to do something like that every now and then. Both those players are very exciting to watch and they are famous in the poker world. And even though that amount of money might not mean anything to them Stars is not targeting the small amount of customers that are on 2+2 and know this.

However, I do think this is a better idea:

It's not an organic match so FTP is clearly doing it for entertainment purposes. The sentiments in this thread are that the $50k could be put to better use.

Wasn't there a HU challenge in the works? Put $50k as an incentive for the end bosses to battle for the 'title' and I'd imagine a lot more people would be interested than a Gus vs Viktor match with postflopaction being the eventual winner.

Ok I get it now. This is just a way of saving face for lol FTP pros. They only set this up for the situation when one or both of them goes busto. "OMG VIktor, why you play so low" - "I lost a promo, you know"

Would much prefer a tournament format that is easy to follow.

Say have top 8 players that are matched up against each other for 5000 hands or til someone quits with the incentive that it is rake free and the eventual winner gets some financial bonus and the "crown" as best pro on FT.
