This news makes me sad. I dont really care about the trival amount of money i still have on FTP. I was hopeing another company would buy the software and allow Americans to play there. So my dreams of being able to play on the best software ever are over.

The most worrying comment from Tapie is that he dosn't want to put in all the money owed to players and will instead try and find a compromise with the DOJ... I cant see that ending well.

The other interesting thing is that he intends to keep the 'Full' Tilt' brand and hopes to relaunch in January 2012...
Very good interview and I can see the DOJ helping to faclitate a deal to help repay the players now its common knowledge they seized 330m dollars over the past four years.

This is players money and the players have not broken any laws so for the DOJ need to assitance with this process and they will, as they cannot be seen to have stop a possible payback of players.

It is going to be a interesting few months ahead.

I wonder if this is the good news Durr was talking about...

$150 mil worth of e checks says otherwise.

Allegedly this is because Sarkozy promised to make some of Tapie's tax problems go away...

Who cares who buys ftp? As long as they give players back the control over their funds. And this company actualy has the credentials to do a good job. They seem perfect, real buisnessman, not these greedy amateurs who kept taking their cut while they ran the buisness into the ground.

i am ALL IN

so PAY UP ONE TIME!

If this sale goes through, and we get our money back, does this mean Howard and friends won't be Indicted? ****, its almost worth never getting my $2300 back if Howard gets to go to prison.

I have no money stuck on FTP but really hope this goes through for those that have.

At the same time, if those ****ers Lederer, Ferguson etc sneak out of this after what they did I will be severely tilted.

Thought something similar, posed a couple of questions but no reply.

Why is Tapie making this statement public? I am guessing to put pressure on the DoJ pre negotiations, and for positive publicity post FT's AGCC license being revoked.

Most of the mods and posters laughed and bashed me when I was optimistic and I proved them wrong just like I do at the tables in poker. People underestimate me all the time and then I come through in the end. Congrats community and FTP I will be around.
I still think you are the best level ever, what a brilliant comic mind on a par with Colbert, well good luck to all

It looks to me like the USDOJ could come out looking like heroes in the press. How often, after claiming something is ponzi scheme can they claim they got 100% of the "victims" money back plus a couple of hundred million for the government although those numbers would belie the original claim that FTP was a ponzi scheme.

mehhh...I'm a bit late to the party, but anyway:

weeeeeeeeeeee... Bring it on! I don't care which of you Tapies, just ship the monies.
From the day that this goes through, all of my red wine will be coming from France. Plus, I will love me lots of baguette.

On a serious note, why do all of you haters even bother to be part of this community? You make it appear as if you'd be happy, if tens of thousands of the people here lost their money.
Seriously, there are so many reasons why everyone should take this as good news and still not few of you choose to be at least a bit douchey about it.

Today is a good day. Hopefully more to come. GL us.

American players will convert their credits in shares like all others. same BR in Shares. Half of Shares will be payed from Tapie in T$ and maybe a good bonus like 50% Rake Back?

I dont understad fine your last question, This is the strategy for the investors to buy FTP w/o any problem with DOJ, and put a small quantity of liquid to start FTP online again. And the solution to repay immediatelly to the players HALF of their money, and to repay other 50% at last 1 year.
how do you think you will not have to deal with the DOJ? you are essentially going to be purchasing shares to assets that they own/have seized.
09-30-2011 , 05:46 PM
great news. cant wait to do what every sensible american that moved to canada will do: cash out 95% of my roll and continue playing like a true sell out!

Asbolutely correct.
Actually, the money he received in 08, (350million€) was for the most part already his if you consider the fact that, Bernard Tapie hired the credit lyonnais back in the days to sell Adidas. Crédit Lyonnais did so, except that they sold it to themselves using several offshore holdings so that it remained anonymous and for an undervalued amount, making a huge profit.
Crédit Lyonnais screwed over Tapie, illegaly for a few hundred millions €, and then they made sure that Tapie could never go after them by using political lobby and other shady financial methods.
He then sued them, that's how he got the money back

wohooo, can this be real!? omg tapie hahah ftw coming home drunkk this is good news but will believe it when i got the cash in my hands

Hahahaha. If Full Tilt reopens, they need to have a million dollar Freeroll with 1k bounties on their newest team members: Harry Demetriou, LedaSon, Jeff Ifrah, and Kevmode. It will be a multi-entry tourney for LedaSon only, and you will get a bonus everytime Kevmode flames you in chat.
