FTP/CardRunners: Educational (EDU) Tables Are Coming. - Page 5 - Poker News

Thread is too big for me to read but why don't just change the screenname of the instructors and let them play at regular tables? What benefit EDU tables offer to video quality of content? Really I don't see a reason to create such tables, and apparently they are the main (if not only) issue regarding the possible distortion of "real conditions" during the videos.

I assume having seperate tables for educational purposes is in regaurds to the ethical issue. If you're sitting down at these tables you know what you are doing and have to consent to sitting and possibly playing in a video. If an instructor could sit down at ANY table and begin making a video, all players playing cash at and below 5/10 would have to consent to being filmed in case an instructor sits down, and if an instructor sits at your table and you do not want to play with them, youll have to leave.

I logged into FullTilt today and for the first time I noticed tables marked "EDU". Have these tables been here for a while? I've never noticed them before today. I thought this whole thing was over, and FullTilt was going to let things stand with the red name pros making videos wherever they wanted.

There also seem to be too few of these tables to do a decent multitabling video, and I don't see any limit or PLO edu tables, just NLHE. I was happy with FullTilt leaving things the way they were, and I hope they haven't changed their minds.

First of all, those edu tables will not always be with instructors that make a video, in fact an instructor will play at them very small % of time, so i imagine the play would be usual and they would have to agree to play knowing the possibility that one of the players around them might be an instructor, so that has FTP completely covered with ethical issues.

On the other hand, the new alias will allow CR to make the video as realistic as it can possibly be.

So how has this been working out? I'm guessing there have been several videos released using this system by now. Has the quality/usefulness of the videos been affected?

They are not coming. Cardrunners is a joke. None of the instructors actually play poker anymore. And the analysis on their videos is super basic and beyond obvious. They dont teach you about hand ranges, bluffing frequencies, or anything advanced. Cardrunners sucks imo.

It has to do with you asking whether the video's have suffered. Judging by the posts on that thread people think they have gone down lately. What am I missing here? Or did you want me to link you to a 10000 word thesis on your specific question?
