Or not, seems like the email leads back to alot more scam attempts by the same person performed in the same manner via Skype.

Hi folks -
PokerStars can contact you directly through the client and (obviously) we have your email address. So we will never attempt to add you on Skype or any other IM facility. And equally obviously if you have any doubt about the legitimacy of the person contacting you, ignore/report them. Nobody at PokerStars is going to be offended if you ask for proof or some kind of verification via email of who they are.

Best regards,
Lee Jones
PokerStars Director of Poker Communications

P.S. Congratulations to jawong2000 for the deep run in TCOOP

Thanks Lee Jones, obviously it was a really dumb thing to even think for a split second that it was genuine, like I said I was just ridiculously caught up in the moment.

This happened while I was on the ft of the $320 6-max tourney. So seems like the same guy is still trying this.

The really weird thing is that my skype name is not even remotely similiar to my screenname.

It's not hard to find out your Skype, I found it in 2 minutes of Googling. You leave alot of information online such as full name, age, date of birth, where you live, skype, where you used to work, emails etc etc you need to be more cautious that this kind of information freely available can be used against you even to the point of finding your contact number and home address where if someone could be bothered this could easily now be done with the information already out there. For somebody who studied computer science you should be aware of this
