Maybe making money is the least important thing for Isildur. He can always just grind some lower games, as he did before he took up Hastings gauntlet. But after he ran hot and amassed a sizeable bankroll, he denied everyone's action and waited for McHastings to show up.

His contract with pokerstars will make him set for life anyway, so he can bust as much as he wants to , trying different things.Cant be too bad being staked by the biggest and richest site in the business.

Thought all that time I spent ****** blocking yesterday had gone away, but it turns out I just wasn't logged in.

Would be great if you could block people by simply right clicking on their screen name though.

+1, I think people in NVG way overestimate how much these kinds of contracts are worth. My guess is it's worth $200k max, with other perks included

But seriously. That's like all the micro players who start tilting and can't step out of a game because of their ego and end up losing their roll. But if he doesn't care about losing 5mill to Hastings, well cool.

Ehm, he moves up and down levels like a maniac, maybe not as much as he used to, but he played everything from 5-10 to 500-1k on ftp and 5-10 to 100-200 on stars.

200k isnt enough tho to make him move to another country etc when he just shoulder shrugs when carpenters successfully scams him on reperations on his apartmentfloor for $35k.

And dont go with the tax evasion clause , there is plenty of big action elsewere and when he made his big run he still lived in swe and now he got a 2m hole to start with.. And prior to the signup he werent even playing on stars. I mean its not like nvg ever misses a crazy Swede storting action and autoassumes its isi. Zero sightings of these on stars

Edit: i dont think its a lol number tho perhaps 500k over 18 months ?

Wasn't he living in the UK well before the Stars' contract? Also, the durrrr comparison doesn't really make sense. I'm pretty sure that, as a Team Pro, durrrr is a part-owner of the site, which is far more lucrative than simple designation as a Stars Poker Pro. Be realistic--do you really think isildur is making more than most investment bankers? What incentive would Stars possibly have to pay its pros more than, say, half a million, with the possible exception of Negreanu? The market isn't such that it makes any sense to pay these guys as much as has been suggested in here, especially in light of the fact that only a handful of poker players are really marketable in a way that would bring in a lot of $$. Isildur has potential to be one of those guys but isn't there yet, despite practically shutting down NVG when he's hot--there's a lot more to the poker world than twp!

I would've thought his contract was worth a fair bit in live tournie buy-ins alone...
02-03-2011 , 05:36 PM
yeah i think dwan was confirmed to get about 2 mil. but he s worth much more. Isil definitely get less than 1 million imo! i d say possibly less than 500.

with all the tourney entries and the HU superstar showdown challenges he is doing his contract is def more worth then 500k. I wouldn't be surprised his contract is worth 2 million. pure speculation though.. but partypoker tried to sign him also(i believe tony g said this) which got him probably a bigger offer.. and the marketing department of stars went all crazy with his hype, i wouldn't be surprised he gets a lot of $$(1million+)
02-03-2011 , 05:41 PM
And the contract is probably time-limited, maybe 2 years. So he isn't set for life!

There's no way it's under 500k (unless he made just 1 year deal or something)... why'd he even sign a deal like that if it means he's only allowed to play at Stars after that.
