They are really missing out on a lot of high stakes game lately. I wonder if they were as inaccurate back in the days when 500/1000 were running on Full Tilt? People seem to take graphs from that time as facts.

Nah, they always sucked at doing their job. Nothing changed. They have a decade+ long history of missing enough hands that you never actually know where a player stands. They are good for individual huge pots but to know where a player stands they've always been off.

Seems to be way less accurate now if you look at the isildur FT swings back in the day that were pretty well documented anyway considering everyone and their grandmother was railing that

HSDB was bought by Pokertube owner 180Vita at the end of 2016. They also bought WeakTight previous to HSDB.

I'm not sure if anyone from the original HSDB is involved still, but it would explain why it did a better job in years past compared to now. I would imagine there is maintenance and updates required to get it working at a high level. I've never really looked to much into how they capture data.

But wouldn't HSDB be more accurate today, since they no longer give players the option to hide long-term results?
