Yeah, cause its so much better when people die in situations like this.

Or, maybe he could be a hero for being one of the few people actually taking pride in his job, actually doing his job, especially when surrounded by cowards, when also his action likely deterred any chance the thieves would stick around and cause harm to any of the crowd of cowards.

I'm sorry, but I really feel Full Tilt was way out of line by staging this. They took things too far.

wtf this is ******ed. I don't think you've been in many life threatening situations obviously, and your quote is irrelevant. This isn't a tyrannical gov't force, this is a handful of robbers. I've read my share of Jefferson, Franklin, Thoreau, etc. and to think this applies is quite a stretch.

I applaud the security guard for his effort, but I can't blame people that decided to gtfo. The bystanders are the people i don't understand.

Ha Ha, the police are still trying to work out whether the Pokerstars were robbed or doing the robbing.

That was the figure given earlier, it's been revised down to around 200k Euros.

If you had read the thread, you would know that the security company can provide armed security guards, but the people who hired the security decided to purchase unarmed security guards.

The customer ultimately selects the level of service. I imagine armed security comes at a much higher cost, as there are increased liability risks, and therefore higher insurance requirements. The customer probably got sticker shock when the armed security price quote hit their desk, and went with the cheaper level of service.

wow, I read 4 of your posts and you seem like some ******ed kid... I'm from one of those socialist countries you were insulting and kindly ask you to either think before vomiting your messages on this forum or, if 1st solution impossible, to just avoid writting them down.

You should consider your own solution (you know, your idea of castrating people in order to preserve the gene pool, very classy) regarding yourself.

Is it "just" money Mr. Allcaps? Do you think the criminals were 100% to just have the weapons for show this time? What about next time they rob now that they have more experience and all? A peaceful resolution is always best, but when the other guy starts violence for money, that ends the obligation to worry about his welfare as an absolute priority. After all, he has done it once, and he will likely do it again with perhaps worse results.

I've been in an armed robbery before. The one I was at was in TX, and one of the robbers ended up dead.

God Bless Texas !

How cheap is pokerstars? all that money they rake and they couldn't get some guards with guns?

They probably rake enough in 15 or 20 seconds to get the guards with guns. WTF

Its so pathetic the way people are jumping under tables and doing everything they can to avoid a conflict. I don't look for fights but if you come at me, you best know that I am coming right back at you. That's their money and they have the robbers out numbered substantially. These guys are lucky I wasn't there.

I don't believe security could carry guns because of strict gun laws in Euroland. Didn't have to do with the $$

for ****s sake these posts are ******ed. are you really telling me that there are 4 guys with guns and a grenade and your going to walk up to one and what? start punching him in the face? beat him with something? lets say theres only one guy with a gun and the others arent around your really going to run up on him with his gun in his hand 20 feet away from you....for what all your going to do is increase the chance things get deadly.

yea that security guard is obviously really brave but lets be honest it was a really stupid idea hes not just risking his life by doing so they're not going to shoot if they don't have to you attacking them is going to greatly increase them starting aimlessly firing even if you dont get hit there are hundreds of people there one stray bullet is basically trying to find the broad side of a barn (or w/e that phrase is). its obviously not his job to fight off armed robbers.
