That's what the OP should have started with. I think that's much more likely a problem. Which if it's true then you can expect poker sites to rethink some of their sponsorship deals. Their prize packages to the wsop wouldn't benefit them as much because they wouldn't have a ton of people in their logo gear for TV. It would probably have some impact, but the sky is not falling.

No it would be more like an NBA or NHL team forbidding its players from competing in the olympics - they do this all the time. And an NFL team certainly wouldn't let their players play in the CFL during the offseason.

Views?
EPT Barcelona = Roland de Dumbass Wolfe = Red Full Tilt Pro = Super Double Angle Shoot Owned.

and to see what happens next, refer to the sport known as boxing:

a bunch of greedy people create a rivaling bunch of alphabet soup entities that they idiotically assume the fans will come on board for the same way as when it was one recognizable homogenous entity.
and of course, just as in boxing, the casual fan will leave, the amount of major tournaments covered in the mainstream media will go from one to ZERO, and the steve begleitters of the world will all move on to their next hobby, and all the greedy people, instead of working together to try to make everyone happy, will have killed their golden goose just like boxing did.

I disagree. There are a ton of Joe Schmoe's that pay a ton of rake trying to win a seat to the WSOP that won't register for a fraction of non WSOP tournaments. Plus most of the tournaments that pay seats have sats to them and we've seen the cost of a seat via the Step method in The Zoo, it's mindblowing.
