He said himself that he thought it would be "fun" to have Patrik in that position. Again, Larry Bird could hit a 3-point shot falling out of bounds with two guys on him, but if he starting PURPOSEFULLY putting himself in that situation, he'd have lost a lot of games.

If you don't understand this, then you're the idiot.

if this is going to take place the only players that could do this are.
Lars Luzak
the dangs

While I love the idea of this prop bet a lot; I think it's a logistical nightmare to actually carry it out. I mean for a bet this size to go down smoothly you'll need lawyers to draft up a water tight contract regarding everything from how the money is escrowed, time frame the bet must be completed within, the penalties for failing to complete the bet, etc. I could see many many disputes arise once it gets close to the 50k hands mark and one party is clearly losing and having no chance of coming back. For example, if I were the losing player, what's stopping me from stoppin to play altogether and never get to the 50k hands mark and thus leaving the bet incomplete? There are many problems like this I can think of.

Was it stated that both NL and PLO would be played in the challenge?

Anyway for me the biggest gist here is 4-tableing. The strongest contenders - Lars and Patrik - don't have much experience 4-tabling HU afaik. Make it two tables and durrrr's gonna get a game imo. He might end up outplaying himself then though, two tables being too boring.

I don't know a lot about Nebuchad but he should be up to this I guess. Has the roll, the skills, the ego.

Ziggy would be tough (even a favourite?) if they only played PLO but I'm guessing he couldn't possible hold on to his A or even B game for the whole 50k hands. Let the tilt in and u are done.

Also someone stake IDreamOfJenna to play!

Ivey vs durrr... After 50k hands, durrr is up by 80 cents falling a mere 20 cents short of the magic $1 requirement. Result: split pot, both down after rake and missed table time.

Someone from Finland will accept this bet before the end of January.

Ben Grundy had a sick year in PLO and could be + ev in this bet. He's got a backing deal with badbeat.com, not sure whether they'd be prepared to back him for this challenge, or if he'd be comfortable playing 200-400 hu.

not feasible. A ShuffleMaster machine's gonna need a full overhaul after 20k hands, and if dealers hafta fill in while it's being overhauled they're gonna get severe arthritis in their fingers.

EDIT:
wait a minit.
u mean like 4 live tables, set up side-by side?
... office chairs w/ wheels- like that YouTube clip of those 2 guys racing backwards @ Commerce?
Durrrr, this could be more epic than u ever imagined...

You clearly dont understand how the whole gambling thing works- these are guys who casually ship 6 figures to each other on a daily basis

It will work by: making a blog or forum post stating the rules. Escowing the deniro to a trusted third party- likely a Red Pro

When me and Galfond played 8-12 tables hu, we stopped at 23k hands and called it quits. We would go from down or up $100k to the opposite for the day, 200k swings at 25/50. We did this until the very last minute at 23k hands and we finished around even. He won about $1k iirc. So we got almost halfway to 50k hands and broke even, but if we stopped 2k hands sooner one of us was up like $100k. Sick variance.

Pretty epic match-up imo.

Unless King's chat gets banned then not so much..

ICallSoWhat would do this if he was staked, could probably beat Durrr in PLO, no?
01-03-2009 , 11:33 AM
What about Sammy Farha?
01-03-2009 , 11:33 AM
i think the most likely opponent for durrrr would be a finnish player. the player would probably be staked since i doubt anyone is gonna take this bet with 100% of his own action. the finnish high stakes players could easily pool up enough money for this and at least three of them (PA, ziigmund, lars - LDO) are close to durrr's skill level.

im also naming benyamine as the dark horse for this challenge. he has the most HU PLO experience of nosebleed players, is used to playing long sessions/many tables and imo has the biggest edge because of this. it all comes down to whether his backers would stand behind him in this one or not.
01-03-2009 , 11:39 AM
Jamie Gold has the bankroll too...
01-03-2009 , 11:48 AM
lol now any time Durr plays HU vs someone, there is speculation it is a part of the bet...
