Hey Y'all! I didn't mean Doyle caught a cheater, but I did.
Anybody know Kitt Pettigrew out of Clovis, New Mexico? He was a cheater mentioned in the print that goes with this brief Doyle Brunson story. Doyle was playing heads up with a bad moonshiner, and barking iron came into play. This is a brief video where Doyle tells one of his favorite stories. What a great, nice guy!

In my second little gambling joint, a partner and I sold beer, and whiskey, and had blackjack and poker with a max rake of 50 cents. Curly Cavitt told me he'd teach me to gamble where I could make something out of myself. We were in Longview and an old man cheated me, and Curly watched, Johnny Moss, Sarge Ferris and others were playing a huge razz game there.
Curly ran in Kitt Pettigrew to cheat us. I knocked it off, and ran a thumb across my partners back. The thumb sign signals trouble. We would quit if cheaters came around. We were 19. There were older and tougher. He had a road partner named, I swear!, River Boat Dave. After I went to bed, Dave tried to slip my bankroll out of my Levi's.
