Just an FYI for all scaredycats. I beat the 3rd place finisher in 2012 for 27bb/100 over 15k hands.

that is nothing more than a brag... you might have lost 27bb/100 to the second place finisher for all we know. really says nothing to make people put away their tinfoil.

So Rider's bot is better than Sauce's bot?

My dad is a retired computer programmer and he wrote a bot cause he gets a kick out of it. We chat about ideas sometimes, and occasionally I test the bot, and because he's my dad he was nice enough to include me on the "team."

I'm pretty sure the bots all still kinda suck at nlhe. Because the interface is bad, I haven't put in many hands against the latest versions of "our" bot, so I'm not sure how tough the current versions of top bots are. The key point though is that in lhe bots>>humans (and very close to Nash), and in nlhe they're much less sophisticated (and much further from Nash).

sauce out of curiosity, is he using a a limited amount of bet sizes in order to minimize the decision tree / optimize processing efficiency?

I saw wcg write in here somewhere that his goal is to make 1 million this year and hopefully next year too. Seemed really small to me in comparison to the stakes he's playing. If his average big blind is somewhere around $150, he's aiming to make just over 60 buy ins for the year? Seems really low.

At an average big blind of $150 and an assumed winrate of 3bb/100, that's just over 222k hands for a year. Doesn't seem an absurdly low # of hands for someone who can't play online poker from one of his homes (Vegas). Obviously the higher his actual winrate is, the fewer hands required to reach $1000000.

His schedule is booked. He has 4 hands a month lined up with Durrrr for the next 12 years.

Also to all of the people throwing around casual observations/accusations of botting for Doug and Ben, it seems to me like you should present some evidence to go with the random forum typing. Like or dislike who you want. These guys are professionals. The challenge is good publicity for poker. Randomly saying that they are horrible cheats is wrong.
I'll post links that evening, I'm at work.

I'm sure that sauce123 is not a cheater I have so much respect for him.
If he was cheating, he would never have agreed to have his name published on the annualpokercompetition site.
