What did you expect? Amaya paid $4.9B for a property that is probably in a declining or at least already peaked market. They're going to try to squeeze more juice from the fruit, I hope you didnt think rake decreases were going to happen?

Anyway it seems to me most of the rake increases were in the hyper-turbo SNG's, which are pretty much SNE degens grinding in their boxer shorts to cover their needed monthly FPP's. So yeah, I guess I could care less about that since that's not me lol.

I was playing as a daily regular cash grinder for to years giving to Pokerstars more than ten thousand dollars profit from my play. After the rake increase the room is no more profitable for me . If they prefered the idiots who deposit 50$ once a month and loose all their money to roulettes and slot machines they can have them. What Amaya did to the two best poker rooms in the world , Pokerstars and Full tilt is so bad.
Amaya destroyed online poker

I withdrew my bankroll and never come back to play in Amaya.

Do you hear the grinders sing, singing the song of angry mens, it's the music of the players who will not pay increased rakes again

This happened before.. they just banned the accounts for the day..
and continued to rake.
So while this is a good idea in theory.. Just not logging on would be better.

A mass sit out will only get you banned, not logging in or not sitting in will have a similar effect.
Something like this has to be carefully planned, I would start creating a buzz via social media by telling the world what a greedy company Amaya is.

Then this idea of a general strike has to be posted to all international poker forums (not everyone is on 2+2), to reach as many regulars as possible.

A simple sitout in a one week timeframe will basically achieve nothing...

I am in, I was probably the only break even HU player playing 50nl zoom on stars, this is ridiculous and I would be now losing huge amounts of money.

Thank you Stars for destroying my game and force me to play vs knitty russians on ur 6max tbls.

14k game I rake for you this year and that's my reward, thank you.

You would need to boycott for at least a month for them to take notice of this, which most regs couldn't afford to do.
If you can significantly impact profits 3 days a month to include a Sunday I guarantee Stars will notice.

that would be an easy 5% decrease in revenues, and CEOs are very sensitive to things like that. Especially when that decrease occurs on a periodic and repeatable basis with the potential to become greater and greater as "the movement" escalates.

To do the movement OP envisions actually require a ton of real work. You can't get something like this off the ground with a ranting whiny post on 2+2. No. You've actually have to turn it into a campaign that you spend 100 man hours per week fueling. You get friends, friends of friends, etc all pitching in, making memes, making videos, getting the word out, explaining the injustice of it all, etc etc.

You've got to build an actual case and generate a groundswell or support.

From what I'm gathering though, I just don't think it's likely because your target audience (the fish) just don't know enough about profitable play to care that they are paying an extra 1% or 2% or whatever of rake and associated costs. They load $100, play play play then go busto, reload another hundo and go busto, rinse and repeat.

And the regs will follow the fish. Sharks follow fish, not the other way around.

Just move to Ipoker or 888 . That will make them really feel the pain.
they know that everybody is going to play on PS anyway because it has " good"software.

If we want to make something to be seen, make account on other platform ( winamax, party, any.... ) and 1 week don't open stars.
They will see this in rake , if we stay sit out, we loose money, not stars, becouse player from tables take our money.

I see so much negativity here, guys they are destroying poker, the game that we love, the main attraction for players to play poker is to make money, to be the next Ivey/Durrr/Antonious and playing with 100k on the tbl.

That's what the dream is about, 99% of people never succeed but they try it, because try and fail is better than never try.

We need to do something about this, I will be changing game and bum hunting religiously at HU tbls (I hate bum hunt but I don't have any other option here), on the 5th I am gonna sit at 9 tbls and going to sit out and type on chat and inform anyone that will listen about what is going on.

If I will be alone then be it, if I have my account banned then be it, but one thing is for sure, I am going to do something about it.

I agree with dglharris, this is far too short notice to make an impact. We need time to work on social media making sure people are aware.

One idea is we could show our power by picking a tourney at a different competitor every week and player bombing it. Something not too high stakes so everyone can get involved. And move around sites so everyone gets a chance to take part.

Another idea as we really need to catch the attention of the media is that Titanbet (Ipoker) in the UK just signed a deal with the Sun newspaper, they are the type of media who can really cause a stink if they can be persuaded enough people care. Just ideas.

wont be very popular opinion ITT or even in this forum but.....

... according to OP, Amaya raised the rake... yawn.

as a business is it not well within their right to price their product however they want. if you don't like the price of a product, and feel you can get a better product for cheaper price then go buy the other product.

money leaves the poker ecosystem in only two ways 1) rake 2) from losing to winning players. If you owned a site would you not optimize the ecosystem to maximize profits ??? online grinders seem to feel that sites owe them an easy living. Sites are in business to make money. They are not in business to provide steady income to online grinders.
