Dominik Nitsche calls out ODIN software for incorrect sims Dominik Nitsche calls out ODIN software for incorrect sims

Just came up in my Twitter feed, he suggests that at least one of their sims is incorrect. Could it be that lots of the subscription-based poker software is inaccurate?

Looks like hes just shitting again on another solver product/coaching to "subtile" promote his own. He might be right tho, but he aint doing it because he cares about the pokercommunity.

Not to de-rail but what's to stop somebody using something like ODIN or something similar whilst playing?

If the answer is 'nothing' then I assume these creators know but just don't care for the sake of a quick buck?

I was expecting something way off, looks fairly similar to his Pio sim - how different is checking vs betting 1bb into 6bb?

Having 5 different bet sizes seems pretty silly though.

Literally nothing, in the same way JNandez on his streams sits out to run a spot he's just played, he could quite well be doing that when he plays off-stream, just without the sitting out.

Seems like Nitsche has a problem with a lot of software companies that happen to be competitors to his own

Wasn't Dom the guy who Tombo's schooled in poker theory? He needs to get back in the lab and stop pretending to be an authority.

Dom appears to a knowledgeable guy about poker theory but he seems to have a penchant for insulting competing products.

I'm quite shocked that in this situation he doesn't even post the sim for the same spot from his own program? Like if there is something so wrong with the Odin sim, why would you not post your own product to compare it? At least tell us what is wrong with the sim? Posts a PIO comparison but not a DTO??

Seems a bit ridiculous to just post a screenshot of someones product and say, "Look at this, it is a piece of junk" and not even say why. Especially when you are an industry competitor.

Like seriously, if an engineer at Ford posted a picture of the 2022 Honda Civic on twitter and say it was a lemon, would anyone take them at their word? They would just appear biased and salty if they gave no additional info.

To be fair he ran it in PIO and showed what was wrong with it.

It really was a bit of a shocker from ODIN, but then again any sim with 17 sizes is a bit of a shocker.

Isn't it significantly more credible to show the result from an industry leader (Pio) instead of from his own program where everyone would accuse him of being biased?

Yeah, fair point.

I still think he should show his though to show that the result is different.

To the sorts of robotic unimaginative players that use these sorts of sims, it's naturally nothing. To players who you actually want to play against, there's still zero difference, but the minbet makes you look like more of a fish, so you want to minbet

No. If you do this you're just an ass. Sorry it takes more than a once over of Super System to win nowadays.

You do realise that RTA is against terms of service and is an extremely serious way of cheating, and by posting that you're advocating that that's okay?

We're not talking about using solvers, we're talking about using them illegally in game.

These products provide an affordable option for online players and high stakes live players who would like to improve their game. Not everyone can afford to hire a private tutor. What’s wrong with the business model?

i agree but i think it should extend to all cfp/coaching ect.. since it's essentially the same thing.

it's been going on for over a decade at this point ect.. but it's just kinda selling out everyone beneath you and it's becoming increasingly efficient as well.

1 mda stable can do a ton of harm to a smaller/medium ecosystem, and this isnt even including traditional cfps which have produced 100's of low/midstakes grinders that otherwise wouldnt be siphoning off money if they had to git gud themselves

Pretty sure the guy you were replying to was talking about educational resources in general (he said "solvers and courses"), not RTA.

RTA users/makers can get ****ed.

Courses are one thing, borderline RTA is entirely different. Also I think (might be wrong) Odin used to give instant solutions and could easily be used as RTA and they only added a delay after it was pointed out, though what's to stop the "chosen" from using it as RTA regardless? Guess we just have to take people's word for it.

I'm personally sickened by how low the barrier to entry for RTA is nowadays. RTA has always and will always exist, but in the past it would take considerable resources to put it together for the individual player. Now it's as easy as subscribing to one of these services that seem to multiply by the month.
