Im pretty sure he isnt sponsored though, and if he is it wont be much - his biggest poker claim to fame is who his dad is (and i dont want to sound harsh saying that, but its true).

He has been on the circuit since 2005, and the estimated costs of entries and travel is usually put at the 400k per year mark by most people (and that is on the low end, for example durrrr dropped 100k just on the 5k rebuy plo the other day according to Raptors blog) - so he is possibly up a few hundred grand if he isnt hitting the pit or the strip clubs too much, he might (though i suspect not) be beating some high stakes live cash games too, and before pokerroad which is currently unprofitable he did some pokercast on some site or other so he probably picked up a few grand for that.

Dont get me wrong, im not hating on the guy, live and let live. But when you say he has 1.5 mill in cashes and say that like he is a millionaire from poker the truth wont be anywhere close to that all in all.

Well, just using your figures from above.

"estimated costs of entries and travel is usually put at the 400k per year mark "

"He has been on the circuit since 2005,"

expenses
2005 - 400k
2006 - 400k
2007 - 400k
2008 - 200k

Misc prop bets between Gavin and friends - ?

This assuming of course he has all of himself, Im assuming he doesnt. Leaving my bias out of it (I dont think Sebok can play a lick) I'd say just by sheer volume, he's going to snap one off eventually. But doing ok to keep his circuit play afloat.

If you ever need to give someone a crash course on what not to do in a tournament, have them rail Joe Sebok for an hour. They will see someone attempt to play every hand dealt, attempt to out aggres larger chip stacks, commit heavily pre-flop with trouble hands, and for whatever reason think you have the image to get the old man who hasn't played a hand in 2 hours lay down anything on a AK1022 board.
