This isn't even a legit poll. Pokerstars is hands down the best site available. In every aspect. Period. Of course we want that back.

And I guess some live players would "care" likewise if they cannot see any value in more online play, but do see value in forcing onliners to play live..
In what sense are you a competitor of Stars ?

(As a former competitor of Stars, I also voted yes, but likely for different reasons.)

I'd be happy to be able to play on any legal/regulated US poker site with a reasonable rake structure.

I'd be happier to play on Poker Stars.

I'd be happiest to be able to choose between lots of different competing sites.

By "as a competitor" I only meant from a competitor's point of view...

As a linguist , I would say the wording of my post was no more clear than the wording in the question.

couldn't care less as it wouldn't affect ROW players assuming once it happens USA would become a segregated market like Italy, France and Spain are.

Let's see, if Pokerstars is denied a license in any state, I question the future of online poker in the US.

Spoiler:
I voted yes.

I had the doom switch on pokerstars, but seeing as they have conducted their business at such a high ethical level where so many other sites have cheated players I would definitely love to have them as an option in the US. I would trust them more than most US banks.

That said, the question does need clarification.

Would have to think that Stars being licensed in somewhere like NJ makes international pooling of players more likely to come about.

They stayed in the US when it was illegal to do so whilst their competitors (Party, OnGame, iPoker, Paradise etc) obeyed the law and left. Being in the US allowed Stars (and FT) to earn 'illegal' revenues that they were able to re-invest in product and marketing which led to them going from 15 per cent market share in 2006 to over 60 per cent now. This is the reason why they are so good now in terms of product, operations and marketing, but how they got there was by 'cheating' not by being ethical. I don't think that they should ever be allowed in to the US.

Nothing against pokerstars, but who cares if its Stars or BobsPokerBonanza.com as long as its regulated and games run?

i hate pokerstars and i'm not american and i still obviously voted yes, the clout of their company and the lure of how big online poker could be in the US if done right is obviously integral to things moving forward.

even if international pools are never unified again you'd have to think that having the pokerstars brand in the US market would open doors with openminded states. even if there was a pool of say 20 US states including a number of key states (california being the most obvious) that pool could get really big and would be very soft, and also make ROW poker softer as many americans could justify moving back home

You are mistaken with respect to the meaning of the Gommerce Clause. Briefly, while the Clause prohibits New Jersey from entering into a trade agreement with the UK, it would not prohibit New Jersey from allowing a New Jersey casino to do business with a ROW company. If that business includes pooling NJ players in tournaments with ROW players, the Commerce Clause has not been violated.

While your proposition may be appealling, it is a merietricious stake. However, your sincereity is appreciated. Maybe someone on the Hill would be more receptive to the bonus you offer.

Staying in the US market wasn't unethical in my opinion. I don't know if you've read up on the actual legislation regarding this issue but the law was very unclear and I believe it still is regarding online poker in the US. I feel this has been covered ad nauseum in many other threads but at the time they made their decision to remain in the US market they didn't have reason to believe they were acting illegally or unethically. They were simply more willing to take the risk than their competitors in a legal area that was still undefined.

AFAIK Pokerstars has not been charged with any crimes, yet has capitulated with the Department of Justice and left the market.
