Ivey Ivey Ivey!
07-16-2009 , 08:29 AM
If they reset the blinds to the 25k/50k level Ivey will have 195bb's.. Ez money.

Good job Ivey and Akenhead

Like many others I was bricking it when I opened up the wsop of poker page to see if ivey had made it through. So so so stoked when I saw him sitting 7th! What a legend.

I don't think anyone else would draw this much united support, maybe only doyle.

Take it down one time!

wtf Ivey made final table!?!?! I wasn't really following the ME but this is so sickkkkkkk

But waiting 4 months for Ivey must suck. He's obviously on a really hot run so maybe in 4 months someone hits his doomswitch.

It's always funny when Norman Chad picks Ivey every WSOP ME and this year he will be right!!

i hope that the 2+2 servers are ready for the explosion in forum activity when ivey takes this down in november.

I waited all night... read the 100+ pages since I went to sleep... and there it is! Phil makes the N9!!!!!!!!!!!!! my vacations starts today!

even with the chip disadvantage - Ivey will have a massive advantage - since it'll be just another day at the office - AND he'll still be playing poker most days between now and then - meanwhile - those amateurs won't have been paid yet (I assume) - and I guess will have to go back to their regular jobs.
Darvin Moon would seem to fit the bill of a luckbox and amateur. At least according to him.

Last year Dennis Phillips played that roll. From what I have heard he worked hard on his game during the off time and from the coverage I saw it did not do him much good.

I expect Darvin will dance with the one that brought him. If he continues to get strong cards he'll win but I'd bet on a final table flame out.

also, how about the people on day 1 or 2 that *should've* been on the tv table, and Ivey instead gave them $5k and i believe $50k if he won the whole thing...who do we think THEY are rooting for? if the story is true, i have no doubt he pays..

so awesome, so awesome.
It's a friggin sit-and-go at this point, dude. He's got a 20% edge at most on the field given that he's already short and has limited strategic options. If you haven't noticed, these players are willing to get the money in the middle. He's gonna have to win several preflop all-ins, period, to even get within hailing distance of the bracelet.

I'm rooting for him. But it's throwing your money away to take whatever ridiculous 6-1 line the books get action on.
07-16-2009 , 09:43 AM
I would not bet him to win.

Rumor has it, that he plans to sit back and nusre his short stack in order to get 6th place money.

gotta love the 2+2 Day 8 ME thread mascot!
and kudos for the ESPN blunder via photoshop

feel bad for Jordan. that dude rocks!

Does FTP need to sponsor anyone else at the final table? i dont think so. I was also holding my breath when i saw the update. So awesome
Perfect promotion for full tilt, impossible for pokerstars to match it

Lol going back to their regular jobs.

They got the million $ already, some of you are just not so well informed ha.

Okay, the real question is who's gonna make all the masturbating daffy duck t-shirts for all of us to wear while we are railing Ivey in November?

Yeah, that third place finish was pretty lame.

Yeah, that deep run Phillips had this year must have been a fluke too...

I think you decide on the formula for POTY *before* the event - not after you know the results...
