Funny how he said he had a script for everyday, since the start of the tournament.

I get the impression that he had a strategy for interviews aswell, trying to portray himself as " the guy that luckboxed his way to the FT / never played a hand of online poker " , could make opponents think he was the weakest player at the final table , therefore they would make moves against him , and he could be paid off his big hands.

Maybe even the fact that he didn't signup with a pokersite sponsorship had to do with strategy.

Maybe he's just the guy that luckboxed his way to the FT and never played a hand of online poker.

If there is one thing that is abundantly clear about Darvin Moon, it's that he is a level one thinker.

I think Darvin had a sick metagame. When he tanked for Cada's all-in and then folded and insisted he had a monster and then later Hellmuth said he had K4 for bottom pair, or the other time he had J9 and insisited he had a monster.

this thread proves that people will always be jealous haters no matter what. pretty sad really. i don't see how anyone can hate on this guy. the mockery of putting yourself on a stepladder and looking down to moon in terms of what you think your poker skill level is compared to his is pretty pathetic (especially when most doing the mocking are likely $0.01/$0.02 NL grinders). he's made more money than what 99.99% of all poker players will make in their lifetimes.

+- 3 or 4, depending on hole cards that we didn't see + several of the early early early morning hands if they have time to show them

So luckboxing your way to a huge score makes you immune to criticism for life?

Am just glad that Cada kid won. Was tired of all the hype about Moon not selling out and all that. Like Forrest Gump and his ping pong paddle, maybe his mother should have explained it to him. Without advertising, poker (and especially the WSOP) would never have grown to what it is. He doesn't want to be a part of poker, good, he can take his money and head on back to the sticks. I wish Joe Cada all the best over the coming year, and hope the kid makes all he can representing poker as the champion. Congrats Joe Cada!!!!!

He's not a good fundamental player. Big deal. He's got a great personality and average joes will love him. Isn't that a good thing?

Good personality? He was about the most boring thing I've ever listened to be interviewed. He looked so uncomfortable.

yeah, but its just a dumb game, that for some reason, a bunch of you guys take to a personal level.

i respect moon way more than some video trained nit. at least he is playing his own game.

its like you guys are a bunch of nazis or something. moon makes some bad plays, there for, his genetic line must be inferior as well.

but i'm sure most of you are outstanding physical and mental specimens. keep smoking that 420 guys. you are all so absolutely brilliant.

If you weren't convinced at any earlier point, the final hand should have told you everything you needed to know about Moon.

"I knew it was 60/40."

First, he's wrong, he was actually around 48% (I don't really care to look up the exact hands). Second, the fact that he was tickled to get his chips in with a perceived 40% chance to win the hand is pretty bad. At least strategy wise, he knew his best chance was to flip for it. Also funny that he doesn't think Cada's range there includes JJ-AA, AJ-AK, & KQ, some hand where he's crushed and it's not 40% for him. But it's pretty easy for him to say once the cards are turned up.

With all that being said, I wish he won. Probably would have re-invigorated the donks to get back into the game, if anyone of them weren't playing. And he seemed like a nice guy, knew he wasn't very good, and the no sponsorship thing was refreshing.
