Not really my type of woman actually. Is that her boyfriend? They look perfect for each other. He looks like he wears a lot of cologne.

Hi guys, just here to remind you why women avoid this forum!

Women who aren't stick thin aren't "pretty heavy" - also I didn't ask to be a part of this controversy, yet I get to read lovely comments anyway. Post a pic of yourself now hoosierdaddy, I'd like to judge!
Pretty heavy in the context of running competitively isn't an insult.

If that's the level of offense necessary to drive women away from the forum maybe it's gods way of saying that women shouldn't use the internet.

I do acknowledge your feelings however and will pray for you.

It's not. There's plenty more offensiveness on the forum to make women want to avoid it.

Take your response, for instance. And the one above, where some dude who may very well be a pencil neck geek living in his parent's basement passes judgement on the physical attractiveness and male partnering selection of one of the participants in the prop bet.

Do you at least appreciate the irony that in the picture you chose to use to show that she wasn't "pretty heavy", she used #lessfat to describe herself?

Yeah how insensitive and offensive to sticks. Inconsiderate. Should have used "rail thin". Eff rails, no one likes those.

But seriously I hope for your sake that English is not your first language because you seem to communicate poorly in this language. She said nothing offensive.
Doesn't matter, it still labels people in a certain aspect. I wasn't offended in any way. If someone calls you fat or whatever and you aren't, why even bother? And if you are, well the other person just stated a fact, deal with it or start dieting.

English is my 3rd language btw, thx for your concern tho.

Kerstetter lost weight may of outweighed her by 30 lbs at the time of bet and still probably weighs more now. but is a much better natural athlete probably.

I don’t know any weight numbers of the two and certainly won’t speculate. But a trained overweight runner will still easily beat an untrained slim runner in a short distance race like a mile.

At distances longer than marathon, BMI becomes a pretty good performance indicator, but that’s not true for anything that’s still close to sprinting distance. If you watched the Boston marathon yesterday, there are no 250lbs+ people breaking 3 hours, that’s just not happening. In the 40 yard dash at the NFL combine, you can see offensive linemen run sub 5 seconds.

Rule of thumb says that an extra pound of fat slows a 6min/mile runner down 1-2 seconds a mile. So somebody who can run a 6min mile at race weight will still be under 7min if they gain 30lbs. Getting from untrained runner to sub 7min/mile is not an easy task for a female runner even if they are already at what’s considered race weight. Especially if they are 25+.
