Yeah there are bunch of people who for some reason want a picture with him but this is in US which is not a market area for GG. You don't see many fan boys in his Rozvadov videos. People in Europe don't generally like that kind of phony energy he has. Not sure about other market areas, maybe it would slide in South America, idk.

A really funny part of the vlogs is how Daniel will find something and focus on that for a day and explain that's why he keeps losing. One day it was he just needs to be sharp again. He noticed he just wasn't as sharp as usual. Then, the next time it was he watched Ivey/Rast/Arieh and it made him realize he wasn't being a killer anymore so he vowed to be a killer again. Then, one time he told the vlog the theme was just to focus. That was why he was losing, he just wasn't focusing like he should. I wonder what tomorrows excuse will be? Lol. Other than that though, I remain impressed at how good his vlogs are. He is definitely an A to A+ vlogger.

Does anyone have a sense of what GG's net earnings are, at least in rough terms? Paying 5M/year to a pro as a marketing expense is a pretty big line item even for a company bringing in 100-200M net per year. And a business like GG has a ton of drag due to regulatory and lobbying expenses. I guess it's possible they have 5M to spend on DNegs, but I don't think it's at all obvious.

I'm starting to think Daniel will never win another bracelet as long as he's still doing the vlog. The vlog along with interacting with fans seems to mentally drain him and take him off his game. He simply can't focus on the task at hand.

I think the best players focus on poker and nothing else, even while out of a hand, while on break etc..

Vlog or pic’s aren’t the reason for not winning. Yeah, it’s a bit of a distraction but it’s also a shield for looking busy and avoid more pics.

Plus, he’s growing his channel and probably enjoys doing it, lastly more exposure for gg so marketing wise, makes his value have more worth.

He’s not winning cause it’s difficult to win and skill wise, he’s a dog vs the crushers.

In Vegas you would have thought it would have happened at least once in the last 15 years but hasn't.

Introvert is getting tired from being social for very short stretches of time. Not "I get tired after talking non stop, putting attention on myself and multitasking a vlog while dealing with fans for 8 hours a day". Literally all people, even extroverts, would get tired by that. Extroverts dont have unlimited battery life. DNegs is definitely not introverted. My guess is hes trying to get sympathy for the way hes acting ("aww hes doing it for the fans even though hes an introvert what a saint") instead of derision ("jfc hes such an attention you-know-what")

Whenever I watch these high profile vlogs, Im baffled by how lucky people like Negreanu must have been overall in their career. He plays one tourney and is absolutely SHELLSHOCKED that he played one PLO tourney without catching a hand and busting out without really getting much going. Seriously? I play 4-6 tables casually once or twice a week and that happens in several tourneys every single day, just getting fd over by the deck and busting over the course of 3 hands. But for Negreanu this is worthy of a lengthy rant. I get that he rants about it but he doesnt rant in a way of "well that happens in poker some times, just one of those days.. annoying in a big one" but instead its like "I CANT BELIEVE IT... not one hand THE ENTIRE TOURNey... WHAT IS GOING ON GUYS??"..

Imagine where you stand on the overall good/bad variance graph when that is your reaction to a single tournament of getting no hands. Negreanu isnt the only one either .. its a recurring theme for a lot of players who have gotten some results. Really makes you think.
