Daniel Negreanu and Martin Kabrhel went heads-up to a flop of {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Negreanu check-called a bet from Kabrhel on the flop. The {10-Clubs} rolled off on the turn and Negreanu checked again.

"What is your kicker, Daniel?" Kabrhel asked but did not get an answer. Kabrhel went on to bet 150,000 and Negreanu called.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Negreanu quickly checked. Kabrhel made a bet of 145,000 and Negreanu just called. Kabrhel showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} while Negreanu tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two pair.

"Wow! Just call? You played that awesome," Kabrhel started going off.

"I only had two pair, you could have had a set," Negreanu piped back.

"You got max value. They only let awesome players play in this tournament, I love it." was Kabrhel's final response.

I think 2 things are true, 1. Dnegs will not turn a profit b4 the end of the vegas wsop this year and 2. He will turn a profit of more than $1 Million @ next year's vegas wsop. #hottakes

I just watched the last 3 vlogs and Dnegs basically spent the the whole time getting it in bad.

How can this be +EV in any world.

The justification of a high variance style is nothing but bullshit.

He talks about +EV spots yet is in so many -EV spots.

Some of the spots look tilty and spewey to me.

He claims to be playing well but running bad. The same nonsense he spouted while losing 1.2M to Doug Polk.

Its NOT the paying taxes that is the major problem. Its the way the tax code is written.

When you cannot write off previous years losses it makes high variance things like Tournament poker unbeatable even for those who are +EV

Simple Example

2018 -$1,000,000
2019 -$1,000,000
2020 -$1,000,000
2021 -$1,000,000
2020 +$5,000,000

So you are +EV, up $1,000,000 over 5 years............. except you have to pay 40% on the $5,000,000 and cant write of the losses of the 4 previous years.

B4 the series started I would've made him posting a profit as a 90-10 fav vs. him winning a bracelet this year. but with these results I 'd say 1. neither; leads, 2. a profit no bracelet; 3. a bracelet but loss for the series and both @ 4. winning a bracelet and posting a profit as least likely.

So did he fire 1 or 2 bullets in the 250k?
