Not that long ago, DN signed some contract with Wynn and as a promotion issued a HU challange to anyone in the world. I think it was anywhere between 100k and 500k, and the challanger picked the game.

I can't remember all the matchups he actually played, but the only "online" player to step up back then was Joe Cassidy, who played DN hu limit holdem and won 500k.

Lets assume DN issues the same challange today. How many online players will play him? How many 2p2ers would play him? Naturally playing live will hurt some of the edge of the online players, but will guys like aba, durr, jman, genius, larsluzak, krantz, urin, trex etc still step up?

And since Daniel is reading these forums, do you still feel comfortable enough playing these players HU today?

I'd play DN hunl for 100k.

Pretty sure the majority of HSNL would.

i wonder how many bb's deep these games would be depending on the amount played for. in other words, would the blinds be smaller for a 100k match as opposed to a 500k match?

unless danny is still a big payoff wizard, i dont think he's an easy win for anyone in a nl heads up match.

I could be wrong, but I think Joe took him for 200K.

'ivrit' and 'tov' should be the phonetic spelling.

Either way, I was just saying that english isn't my native language and i'm after 12 hours of poker, so, well, meh.

He played "Opie" Oppenheim first, then he beat Mimi Tran at LHE, then he played Joe Cassidy (you should google the sick hand where DN raises the turn with Q9 and takes a river stab and gets called by Joe Cassidy with Qd4d *busted diamond draw*....."Not me!" haha: awesome) Then he played Barry G at Stud (Negreanu claimed at the time that although Barry was a better Stud player, but he felt that he was a better heads up stud player than Barry and had received alot of valuable tips from some friends of his). The he played Barry at Omaha, and from what I remember they played 3 big pots where they got all their money in on the flop and Barry won all 3 pots, but DN was still up a $120k or so even after the fact. On one sick hand, the Bear went running 5's and his 10-10 was good after getting it on a king high flop with a bad king and a diamond draw, and negreanu having AK.

Joe did win 200k at 2-4k.

Oppenheim also took him down in limit holdem.
DN won 500k from Mimi Tran.

Greenstein and him played stud and Barry won both times. Dn won the omaha.
He won a few more matches playing Omaha and lost in NLH against a businessman.

Good for him to step up and make a challenge like that, he brought attention to the Wynn poker room and created a big game for himself. (He couldn't play at Bobby's Room)

Nowadays, it would be too difficult. There are so many good players. DN wouldn't win against specialists. (The challenger got to choose the game)

From OP's list, I'd think that only Townsend, Dwan, Antonius (ldo) and Kelopuro would stand a chance against DN live. Online is a completely different story imo.

Was that "the Persian" who DN later edited out references to, only calling him a "businessman"?

The challenger did not "pick the game", he picked from a list of games that daniel pre chose that hed be willing to play. I dont think NLHE was even on the list.

The question is about playing "all challengers between 100k-500k." But thanks for coming along and posting anyway.

Limit Hold'em
Omaha H/L
Stud H/L

No Limit Hold'em

Looks like NLHE is on the list.
