If he was serious, and not a degen, he would either a) have friends who would back him or b) go to a reputable online staking site and build up a rep. Posting on Craigslist shows that he for sure is not serious, not a good investment, or both.

so, I have to say:

[ ] has friends/acquaintences who respect his game and would back him
[ ] wouldn't put the money up his nose and is serious about making money

I saw this ad on Craigslist. Anyone know who this player is and what was the "uncontrollable major financial setback" by this player which necessitates such an ad on Craigslist. Or is this just some sort of scam?

I am Brendan Lynch and have just now discovered this site and much to my dismay most if not all whom have claimed to know me certainly do not because the information provided by them is completely inaccurate and in some case malicious.

To address this issue of me posting on Craigslist... I simply didn't know of any other way, at the time, of locating someone who might be interested in staking me. Period.

At the time, I was in a bind and was merely looking for someone to back me. I was completely unaware that this site existed. No, it wasn't a scam.

Post a confirmed pic or you'll be run off very quickly. How about your license with the address/license # removed

To be honest, at the time I had a problem with Blackjack. I would win 9 out of 10 times playing poker and then the one time I would lose I'd go on to lose 5 figures at the BJ table... Counting cards.

This is completely malicious and entirely false. Never touched the stuff. If I could sue this mental midget for defamation of character, I would.

Not sure if I should even respond to this one... Sounds like sarcasm to me. I drink organic cola, I have never paid for sex and I've been with the same woman for close to 20 years.

Sounds like a solid system I can't imagine why you would have a problem finding a backer

He shows 5 cashes and 3 FT's. So it looks like he's claiming to have played 13 total tournaments (and rounding 23.0 up to 24 for FTs).

in 2006, his three cashes were in 5k and 2 x 10k tournaments.

in 2008, he FT'd those two circuit prelims.

My first thought is sample size LOL, followed by WHAT???? How are you that successful in 2006, then nothing for 2 years...then nothing for almost another 1.5 years and only 13 tourneys total??

the games changes quite a bit since 2006 imo
No question... I should have continued to play tournaments. I simply got side-tracked by the cash games. I also erred by not staying out of the pit which, at the time was a major distraction. For example... I cashed in my first Main Event at the WSOP and rather than being happy I was quite disappointed with 318th pace and the prize money that accompanied it so that very day into the next I lost all my winnings in the pit. This was my 2nd cash in a row... The first being the WPT Main Event at the Mirage just a few months before where i finished 22nd. After recovering from the Blackjack loss my fiancee and I travelled to Lake Tahoe for the WSOP Circuit Event and I made the final table in the Main Event finishing 7th. The next 2 big tournaments I played in were at the Bellagio for the Festa al Lago where in the $5,000 Event I missed the money by only 4 spots and in the Main Event I missed it by 8 spots. I wasn't wealthy at the time so putting up $10,000+ and $5,000+ of my own money and not cashing can take the wind out of your sails quite quickly. So back to cash games I went. Then I had a backer for a few tournaments in 2008 at Caesar's Palace for the WSOP Circuit where out of the 3 tourney's I entered I final tabled 2, finishing 5th and 4th.

At the time I was quite embarrassed about the situation I had put myself in and at first wanted my identity concealed. When I received an inquiry I, only then gave the information regarding my tournament history. I was also a first time Craigslist user. By the way... It's stake me, not steak me... Genius (Sarcasm).

I'm not sure why it is so hard to believe that someone could be one of the best poker players in the world, but be broke because of other bad habits. It is not as uncommon as you might think. So if I won 9 out of 10 times playing poker for a total of $9,000 and then go and lose $10,000 playing Blackjack, that doesn't make me a bad poker player. Hopefully that explains it. Next time though... Just think it through before posting ridiculous remarks and I promise I'll think it through before making a single step in the pit's direction. Deal. Good.

Why do you keep posting here dude, no one knows who you are or gives a **** about you or this thread. You're just asking for trolls to come and keep this alive for the next 5 years. You really don't want to type your name into google and see this thread at the top do you?
