Slots of Fun, which is owned by Caesars, along with Circus Circus next door, depends upon walk-in traffic from the Strip. A long time ago, it offered really cheap beer with no gambling required and $1 blackjack tables.
The pool tables did not really replace slots, they replaced blackjack tables and carry practically no labor costs. This is not a property getting additional investments or upgrades from its owner,
The place once was a great, cheap place to play blackjack, get foot-long hotdogs and drink beer, sitting practically outside while watching pedestrian traffic. I suspect it's business model has suffered from both a lack of foot traffic plus a lowering of traffic quality, since the Riviera has closed across the street and the Stardust to the South also closed.
But hey, maybe you can convince Caesars to take out the slots entirely, call it Ted's Place and offer liquor in the front and poker in the rear.
