The ones who have been hiding in the house for months ... thats you guys posting here about how crazy it is people are out there without masks not social distancing. It's not just here, I realize there are many others that feel that way too, though less and less every day.
gathering in crowds.. that is everyone else , if you every venture outside on a day with nice weather, people are all over the place, less and less with masks, less and less social distancing
A couple weeks ago in this thread some of you were amazed at watching some police videos that they weren't wearing masks while arresting people and what not. Just this week during the riots in NYC (The Epicenter) there are lots of videos of the NYPD not wearing masks all talking right next to each other. Arresting protesters, neither wearing masks, not in fear of being face to face. These guys are on the front lines in the epicenter and are no longer fearful of Covid, that should tell you something. In April they were all scared, in June they know better.
Clarifications:
When I say the numbers keep going down. I'm not talking about total cases. The more people that get testing as it becomes more available the more total cases will show up. I'm talking about deaths, hospitalizations, lasting effects. All those numbers are dropping like bricks.
Regarding people on deaths door, probably sounded insensitive but the fact is something like 43% of total deaths are nursing home/assisted living. I've spent more time visiting these places the last few years with family members then I wish on anyone. Death is very common at these places, it's the final destination before death for the residents most of the time.
People are social distancing less, wearing mask less, using less hand sanitizer etc etc then there were 45 days ago and the numbers are going down, not up. There is no second wave right now. Maybe the higher temps help, maybe a second wave will come in November.
There will be outbreaks, just like there are flu outbreaks but a little worse. Especially in work places when around the same people all the time, just like other viruses, all of a sudden half the office is sick. As long at Covid keeps trending towards being less and less potent it's not that big of a deal. Just like everyone goes out during flu season they will go out with Covid .
