It's funny how Hansen has found a new nemesis. I rarely hear about GH getting worked up over someone else's play. Or am I wrong on this?

Amnon Filippi Eliminated in 16th Place ($18,049)

Stud:

Amnon Filippi was on the short stack and raised showing the {8}. Tom "durrrr" Dwan reraised showing the {K} to get all in with Filippi. Amnon had a pair of deuces in the hole on third while Dwan held K-J-4.

Dwan ended up with the best hand, making two pair, queens and fours by seventh to eliminate Filippi.

As he exited, Flilippi walked past the other table and said, "I raised with a pocket pair and durrrr reraised with king, jack, four." The entire table burst out in laughter as Filippi left the room.

How about these dealers (in PLO8/Stud8):

High on Tension

According to our trusted field reporters, tensions have been running high recently with a number of arguments about various rules with the floor and their accompanying expertise being called upon on multiple occasions. There have also been a lot of errors, players throwing in the wrong chip and being made to call and dealers failing to deal players the right amount of cards, being just two examples.

i don't get his.. i am a stud noob

Stud:

Tom "durrrr" Dwan (x-x) {5-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {J-Spades}

Tom "Donkey Bomber" Schneider (x-x) {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {3-Diamonds}

On fourth, fifth, and sixth streets Dwan led out and Schneider called. On seventh, Dwan checked, Schneider bet, Dwan raised and Schneider called.

Dwan turned up {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Spades} in the hole, Schneider mucked, and Dwan raked in a 200,000 pot.

is this a real thin value check raise by durrr/ good read?? or did he turn his hand into a bluff and get called by worse..?

confused

I got moved another time right before nlhe, but my next table was just starting stud 8 so that wasn't as bad.

All in all, I played almost 3x as many triple draw hands as nl/plo (which I played 16 hands each of).

They need to figure out a better system.
wait what? are they rotating the games after every orbit or after a period of time?

I think people misread durrrr's play too often. He can trap someone like Donkey Bomber with a pocket because he was betting the whole way & he made it look like he missed his draw by checking 7th. Donkey Bomber probably had JJ. Great play IMO.

James Mackey Doubles Through Tom Dwan

No-limit hold'em:

Tom Dwan opened for 15,500, James Mackey re-raised to 45,000, Dwan moved all in and Mackey called.

Dwan {K} {10}

Mackey {10} {10}

The board ran out {7} {5} {4} {8} {2}. No miracles for Dwan this time and he shipped more than half his stack over to Mackey.

After the hand, Mackey was up to 550,000 while Dwan fell to 175,000.

And how would he have known about this? He should have asked? Maybe this is fair (not being sarcastic).

If it was a mixed event, logically I'd presume that after a re-draw, you'd just continue with the current system. For example, say NL Hold'em just concluded before the draw. If the next game is PLO, then after the redraw play PLO. In my opinon that makes more sense that starting with 2/7 Triple Draw after every draw.

Good point, but when signing up I guess everybody (not just Durr) should ask to see how the rotation works. I don't think this issue is actually a big deal as there's a stacked final table anyway, but the issue will be addressed for future events this year and obviously next year.

Also, if this is a TV event it's an awesome final table (currently 10 left), including Dwan, Farha, Gus and Eli.

LOL at Harrahs for changing the structure on the fly to accomodate a "name" player. Unacceptable.

You same people would be complaining if they did it for Hellmuth.

I mean if I had to pick a human I could be, and the two choices were:

durrrr
gus hansen

I would pick gus in .0004 even though durrrr is hella good at poker.

durrrr wins @ poker but gus wins at life
IMO this is why durrrr can beat gus in PLO

starting with triple draw every time is outrageously ******ed.

i don't think most of you understand just how much that means triple draw is being played over other games.
