I'm creating this thread in an effort to more widely publicize the issues that Carbon has had over the last week.

On Sunday night, during the end of the Carbon OPS tournament series, the Carbon servers had severe issues. Many players were disconnected from the server, and some of the players logged back in to find that they were in control of other players' accounts.

While logged in to the wrong account, the players had full control. They could play hands and view personal information such as address and last 4 of credit card.

I think it is important for all Carbon players to see this and check their balance for signs of change.

So far, I am not aware of any official public communication from Carbon. The posted communications from support haven't shed any light as to the possible issue or solution.

Affected players have been mostly concentrated in this thread

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28.../index105.html

Given how many posts report the issue of logging into the wrong account in so little time, I wouldn't be surprised if a large majority of users had another player log into their account.

They gave affected players tickets to a $60 tournament though. B b b ballin'. That seems like good compensation for disconnecting at the ft of the 215 main and deep in 530 high roller along with having acc info compromised.

By affected players, you mean players that were disconnected from tournaments correct?

To my knowledge, no Carbon employee has admitted to the cross-account login issues.

So to clarify, these tickets are compensation for tournament disconnection and blinding out (standard recompensation) and have nothing to do with any money that may have been lost via another player being logged in.

Also, please, if I have any part wrong, correct me.

Yes, this has been reported.

Other users have responded saying they have encountered a similar issue, usually around a disconnect, and that it was usually just the cards from the previous hand (pre-disconnect) being displayed.

Ok time to ban playing on Carbon Poker. Everyone there should move to Intertops. Your money and account security is much safer there.

Someone played a tournament and a few cash games on my account after I had gone to bed. I do not play tournaments and have them filtered out in the lobby. I forgot to log out. The next day when I checked my balance was short.

Im pretty sure im missing money on there. It's at least 1k but I didn't even bother emailing them about it, you know why? Cus I know I will never get it back and will waste and hour or two of my life writing and responding to emails. If I thought there was even a 1% chance of getting my loot back id send them an email, but I know it's a complete waste of time and energy doing so, why bother?

At this time I am grateful for the paranoia that led me to use a virtual account number for my deposit and the laziness that led me to neglect submitting all the documents to verify my address before now.

Pretty disgusting that some people were blinding away at final tables with $40k+ ut and it was carbons fault. Yet carbon lacks to recognize this and is refusing to acknowledge their fault. Glad someone finally made a nvg thread about this.

I was sweating a friend deep in the 530. 14 or so left. He disco's for about 45 min, comes back with 80k less, (lost about 30% of chips).

Gets message from carbon later.

We apologize for the inconvenience, we can see that you ended in XXth place and won $XXXX.XX ,However, we have awarded a $60 entry coupon as compensation.

After dozen phone calls and emails, they shipped him another $1500 cash.

Not sure if they did it because of the cross logins or not but I am sure they are aware it happened and realize they have to play damage control either way.

Whoever thought a $60 ticket would be incentive to just grin and bear it is not thinking clearly.

You're a better man than me. I would exhaust all avenues and have faith that right would prevail in your particular case. And even though you don't believe there's a 1% chance of getting your loot back, I truly believe Slim is still in town. Along with his posse. So there's better than a 1% chance. But I guess we won't find out, since you're not gonna follow up. Just sayin.

In the Merge Discussion Thread, 2 players have been more than satisfied with Carbon's recompense. One of these also had money missing from his account. Of course they made Carbon aware of their situations. Just sayin...

I was one that lost a small amount when another player played on my account. They responded in less than 24 hours and made me whole plus a little extra for the inconvenience.
