Can we discuss Cereus specifically? Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

I wonder if it's illegal to not keep player funds in a separate account. It seems they've spent our money or it was taken from them, if they can't pay us back.

The problem is that now if everyone asks for their money via cashout, very few of us will get our $ and Cereus will go t*ts up as there will be no action.

So I suggest everyone with a balance of $X play blackjack until your balance is down to $X/2. AP will then have a matching amount to the remaining balances in player accounts.

Then you can cash out at as much as you want and assuming not everyone will fully cash out, AP will still have money left over to keep things going. At that point we can all start playing again with confidence knowing that they have funds.

The Subject:Poker article on UB stated that they only have $5M liquid for $50M in player funds owed, so this solution doesn't work. They need a Cereus (I crack myself up) capital injection.

If they had the money, im sure people with serious money would love to give up half their balance. Finally, if they owe 50 million, and only have 5 million they obviously cant pay. With what your saying, if they owe half, 25 million, THEY STILL ONLY HAVE 5 MILLION. The numbers in player balances dont mean the money actually exists anywhere, per se, unless your playing on Pokerstars. Im not saying they will never/ cant pay, I have money on the site as well, but lowering their liabilities will not help them pay out, unless they can build up a player base or get a cash infusion from an outside source. It could just be that they are waiting to see if they will be able to somehow re enter the US market if it is legalized, and have a reason to pay back a player base that can also generate rake for them in the future.

It would be interesting to know what are the daily/monthly operational expenses for them atm. The smaller that number is the longer the current "stalling" is gonna go on as they look at all their different options. If it's big and they don't get financial help it should be asset fire sale time?
06-28-2011 , 08:39 PM
"stalling" and going over all their options sounds better than a "asset fire sale"

You're assuming options they may not have

Figure something like 200k per month OpEx and 50k per month player payouts, they can go at least 18 months status quo. If they convince Leggett to take a paycut, maybe even add a couple months.

Don't forget about their high priced lawyers they currently have, I'm sure that is costing them a lot.

Just got another e-mail so here's what they said:

Dear Mike,

Thank you for contacting us.

The company is currently restructuring and is focusing its resources on consolidating its non-U.S., rest-of-the-world operation and software business to maintain the operation after the incidents of Black Friday.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Regards,

Lucas

So with this said it does give a little optimism!!

That's the same thing they've been saying since BF.

question regarding those who have gotten multiple bank transfers in:

On the second bank transfer attempt, your information is already pre-filled in but the first 3 digits of each section are stars like this: ***.

Is it okay if you request the withdrawal with the account info section looking like that? Or are you supposed to actually delete those stars and replace it with the digits again?
06-29-2011 , 04:38 AM
Stars is fine. That's how they "protect" the number.

After 2 months I finally got my 2nd cashout on Cereus.
BUT I made some legitimate steps to force them to return my money. I regret I did't do it before, course only that helped. I can't share details here.

P/S By the way, I found that licensing commissions are willing to help players, at least when the sums are not big. So, for non-us players there are still a hope

Yeah you're totally correct - what an idiotic idea that was. I was making the stupid assumption that the xfer of "losings" to AP would result in them having more real money. Doh!

Sorry for that - I must be on some sort of forum tilt due to feeling helpless. Checking to see if my payout "pending" has changed to approved isn't helping me either.

Wtf - why can't you share details here? You don't have to give out your account info and you're prob. not the only player to do this so I don't think AP will come after you.

I can see the Cereus crooks giving each other high fives for having more real money players than Full Tilt.
