Very bottom of Marco's article about this on his site says deposits have to be made in Cali only.

PrivateTable.com was designed for the enjoyment of adults over the age of 18 and may be accessed for “free play” fun from many jurisdictions. Any approved withdrawal may be cashed out from anywhere in the world but player deposits will only be accepted from California.

To be eligible to participate in tournaments or cash games, you must be a California resident and be located in the state of California. Any attempts to circumvent these rules may result in the closing of your account.

The notion of asserting #ipoker as Class II gaming has been around for at least a couple of years. I'm sure this has been in the works quietly for some time.

I really like this tribes attitude. Also their motto should be... "Come play poker if you don't give a _________!!!"

How is Kahnawake even allowed to regulate any gambling site after all of their massive failures?

Do you have to full out tax form for cashing over $1k in Cali? How would it work online then?

Santa Ysabel is a tiny tribe that closed the doors on its land-based casino earlier this year due to insolvency. It seems unlikely they would have the financial resources to make serious go of this. If it does end up being a serious attempt, it will be interesting to learn who the real players behind the scenes are.

They would prefer that but there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

I would like to make it very clear that I don't know for certain that this will happen. It was said to me by a source close to the situation, who is named in my blog post, and it didn't really sound like he was guaranteeing it either, only that it might happen. The press release makes it sound like the site has already launched, but it seems like it was written cautiously to avoid making too many explicit statements (such as who will be able to play and from where.) The tone of the press release, plus some of the text that I also included in the post (see the first image), hints strongly at the real-money component.

We'll have to see what happens - tomorrow, or this week, or who knows. For sure it could be a huge game-changer if it turns out to be real money online poker available to anyone in California. I downloaded the client and created an account (I might have been the first), but I could not find anything that indicated I could make a deposit, except for a message that told me I had to "validate my email address" if I wanted to do so.

I'm based in Nevada so it may be invisible to me, or it may not be visible to anyone until the "launch." I'd be very curious to know what the players in California will be able to see and do tomorrow, or in the days ahead.

Marco

I am in CA and get this when attempting to sign up after downloading the site... "We are unable to verify your information and cannot complete registration at this time." I got to the page where I put in my address. Anyone else with the same issue?

If I were in CA I'd sign up just based on that motto!

Just signed up and got the above fineprint right before I finished registering. I am in CA and there is no option to deposit real money. Only play money games running at the moment.

the tribal stuff in CA right now is so nebulous.

The casino I work has an affiliated tribal site called PalaInteractive that is trying to launch in NJ this year, so when it's legalized in CA, they can (hopefully) combine player pools. But no one really knows when CA will have the green light for this.

I'm tempted to make an account at this place, since I live about 20 minutes from the Smoke shop referenced above and I could easily deposit in person, but then again, it seems a bit premature to me, especially since they had to close their brick and mortar casino this year.

Can I convert cigarettes to cash at the smoke shop and use that to deposit?

I don't understand how the KGC is even still considered a regulator... what exactly do they do? After what they have DONE they should not even be a legitimate option anymore

They have a gaming commission without any gaming. In order to keep their jobs they need to get some gaming going. The fact they are bankrupt and need jobs makes me think it is more likely they would try to pull this off. There is more than enough people with money who would back the first tribe to try to enter the market.

Why would they want or need to partner with the Kanawhakee gaming Comission?
