At the time, I still felt 75% that he was intending to payback, and only having really bad issues at the time. I believed we were waiting for his backer to sort things with him. I even spoke to his backer directly, and he gave no indication that a scam was happening.
And that anyone would think that I refund other people is just silly. We have one person to blame, so you shouldn't be looking to attack other people in the same boat as you. My mistakes are mine, and yours are yours. Own it. Same to you ChangeItUP. Ridiculous that you think the way I handled this situation makes me a POS. You just took a discussion about the person who stole from you and made it personal with me...I'm going to refrain from doing the same. For now.
I don't think I misunderstood anything. You clearly wrote that you thought your options were going public and getting 100% screwed, or keeping quite and having a chance to get your money back. What did I misunderstand?

The kind of person that won't pay you back if you post something is the kind of person that isn't paying you back at all no matter what you do. It's not like you have to post that the guy is a scammer, but if one of you had simply mentioned that he was being a bit slow, you're sure you'll get paid but you thought it was worth mentioning, etc., it sounds like the whole web of lies would have been revealed a lot earlier.
What did Bobo misunderstand? Because I think he understood exactly the same I did.
Look, my logic is: You chose to keep quite, risking that others get screwed (your words). You did so because you wanted to get as much of your own money back as possible. That was helping Brandon to screw other people. You were partially paid with money Brandon stole from other people because you chose to keep quite.
People are out a lot of money, and they are because you kept quite knowing this could happen. You now have some of that money.
Now you say you are not accountable because people chose to do business with Brandon. Would they have done that if you chose to protect the community over maximising your equity?
If people were accountable in cases like that, than you wouldn't have kept quite. Brandon might have screwed you, but also might have tried to get it right; who knows. People wouldn't have gotten screwed for the money they planned to pay the rent with.
What do you mean with you don't want to make that a personal discussion.. for now? Lol, I shiver. Let me make something clear: I deeply disgust your stance, knowingly risking that people get screwed to have a better shot to get paid (again, your words). I think it's completely unethical. I think that you are morally obliged to pay the people that were screwed because of your behaviour; with the money you received because you enabled the theft of it.
Of course you won't, so we can stop discussing anyway. Hope you enjoy that money.
To all the victims that were screwed because others kept quite for whatever reason: I wish you all the best, and hope to get your money back.
To the people that could have prevented the theft of money: I hope you have at least the decency to let others get paid before you.
