No need to regulate an unregulated market. But in theory, this could be an issue, yes.

If they raise rake too high, and they have no regulations to restrict competitors from entry into the market (which we all know they don't), then there is no coerced monopoly (or the problems people generically associate with "monopolies").

It's like a hooker having a monopoly on BJs...if she starts getting lazy about it, some other hooker can always come along and give a better deal or a better quality BJ.
+1 for this impressive analogy!

How many Stars spies worked for Full Tilt? A bunch, they new everything.

The whole Tapie deal and even the new job listings as well as the new company being formed was all part of the distraction.

I am now 100% that Stars will be back in the U.S at some point.

Very Sun Tzu like. All the great strategist would be proud, Machiavelli , The Corleone Family, Von Clausewitz etc. etc.
holy **** it's "knew" not "new"

never been so tilted in a thread that made me so happy.

If Barry Greenstein pays back his $400K loan to Pokerstars we'll know it's official.

This is such a mess, absolutely mad to believe/disregard any of this until we hear from PS and GBT. fingers crossed.

On one hand i miss FTP and its sng / structures.. do i be happy it could come back or sad PS will ruin my cherished memories

Can't really understand the business sense in this unless Stars suspects there are players out there who will play only on Tilt and not Stars, for the good of online poker and more importantly for the good of the players with balances stuck on there I really hope this is true but it just seems unbelievable right now.

DN has a big mouth, he is the last guy they would tell something so important

Guessing PS swooped in with a much better offer and GBT got hosed. Maybe DOJ felt they could do much better for the US players getting paid in full?

zero

So did Tapie take too long to close out the deal and stars swooped in with a better offer?
