So is the BB Ante good or bad for the game? Does it only benefit the dealers/casino since it speeds up the game a bit. Meaning less hours the casino has to pay their dealers? Does it change your pre flop bet sizing ? Does it change your overall strategy in a negative or positive way? Should the BB ante be taken away once the final table is reached?

Well, based on my experience playing in BB ante tournament's I have to say its good but more bad than good for the players. I feel like once the field gets smaller, you have less play ability. For example, lets say 30 players are left in a 300 field tourney and the average stacks have 40bb. But really its only 20bb because youre putting in a bb ante. Idk, i just feel like the casinos are benefiting from this and the players dont really get the ability to show off their skills as much as before . You have to play waaay more tight. Thoughts ?

Just pretend that it’s a button ante. Then you’ll have 40bb again, and since you doubled your stack you won’t have to play so tight.

Play in a home game that often does bb ante and 99% of the time a few players hate it and we switch to 3 blind for the remainder of the game.

At least this time they are actually stating their reasons for disliking the BB ante. I don’t think they’re very good reasons, but it’s something.

But I love how they somehow think 300/600 600 bbante is somehow playing shorter stack than 300/600 75 ante, actually the mental gymnastics are astonishing.

At least make a really interesting argument about headsup to 4 or 5 handed play, which is something that probably needs to be addressed with BB ante.

Where I play it's actually a button ante, and it halves when there are 5 players or below. Doesn't completely solve it but it's much better than just a fixed amount BB ante.

I liked how a game running more smoothly, with less time wasted figuring out who didn’t put in their ante, is some kind of scheme for the house with no benefit to the players.
