apart from Leo Wolpert aka Superfluous Man (i think?) winning the $10k NLHE HU event...

has the MTT community of 2p2/the internet in general won much or made many FT's? it seems to have been a disappointing series for them.

Brock Parker aka tsoprano doesn't post on here afaik and...
Ike Haxton - i'd definitely consider him a cash player.
LuckyChewy - the same

views?

in before "do you know what variance is?"

would be interesting to if/how much they are down in total as a group for the series but obv unlikely to happen.

also in before i get owned with lists of MTTc regs who have made FT's this summer...

in before Bax FT at $10k PLO

I think he's cashed 4 or 5 times.

Even with the increased popularity of mixed games, most of the young online players are still NLHE specialists. The fields are so big in the NLHE events that those players are unlikely to make a final table in 10-20 tries.

I also suspect that the pre flop shove-happy style of play that works well in online tournaments isn't ideal in live tournaments with slower structures.

Oh please. Did you even watch any coverage of NLHE final tables? Whether or not the internet kids were 2+2ers, the final tables were certainly flooded with internet "shove happy" (aka "good") players.

ive got four cashes so far in about 15 events and am up a bit for the series =/ i think a lot of friends of mine have had series similar to this -- a handful of close calls, made a bit of money, but just whiffed the rungood in the last few tables that you need to close a tourney.

edit: also, completely unveiled brag, our house is crushing this series, 6 dudes, grossed a bit a million with probably ~200k in buyins.

got 5th in the $1500 Limit Shootout, still only up a little bit for the series though, sigh.

If you're going to dissect the people in MTTc and only count them towards the forum they post in most, then MTTc isn't very big to begin with. Alot of MTT'rs have moved on to other games through the years.

If you view MTTc as any person who regularly reads the forum, and makes posts occasionally(the way it should be) than I think this was actually a pretty good WSOP.

All I know is that it was a whole bunch more fun 3 years ago, when 2+2 was still a little bit of an exclusive club, the WSOP was smaller, and you would just randomly run into other posters and get to know each other, follow sweat threads, etc. and you'd generally get one or two people you knew (or knew of) going deep in most events.

Between the WSOP being a huge cluster**** now, and everybody's two younger brothers and six cousins following 2+2, the sense of community has definitely been diluted. 400 damn people went to the unofficial 2+2 thing FFS. So people who WOULD have posted back then as part of a smaller community/event just get lost in the "shuffle" now. Plenty of 2+2ers could be doing very well, and we're not gonna hear about it any more.

kind of the same as mlagoo for my series, and i definitely agree with this being a trend. I think overall though a lot of online players are crushing the series

Andrew Chen aka rdrr finished second in one of the larger NL events. Pretty sure Boosted J did well too but I guess he isn't an MTTc'er.
